[quote]However, I have some concerns that if we sponsor Tea parties and push the illegal immigration issue at the Tea Parties too much at this point, it could backfire on us, for the following reasons:
    1. Though these people are willing to openly oppose taxation, bailouts, and socialistic moves, I think many of them are still skittish about publicly vocalizing their opposition to illegal immigration. This is NOT a rational thing, of course, it is unfortunately due to the success of the ethnocentric pro-amnesty crowd in tying this issue to racism. Though the majority of Americans are opposed to the invasion and know they aren’t racist, many are still, at this point, afraid of being viewed as such by others. I don’t know if they will be ready to publicly vocalize their opposition to amnesty in front of TV cameras.
    2. The liberal media, as well as the left and pro-amnesty crowd, would love nothing more than to be able to tie these movements to “a bunch of extreme racistsâ€

[quote="builditnow"]Well, after reading all the other posts, I am a wet blanket, but I just want to express my concerns and hear what others think.

    W-

I listened to your radio broadcast today, and was so glad to hear you mention the Tea Parties and the Glenn Beck 9-12 organizations.

I am really optimistic that this Tea Party movement can help our cause. I really believe the majority of Tea Partiers are also opposed to amnesty and the illegal invasion. I think we should support the Tea Parties.

However, I have some concerns that if we sponsor Tea parties and push the illegal immigration issue at the Tea Parties too much at this point, it could backfire on us, for the following reasons:

We are at the point where the rubber meets the road. We are Americans
before we are a PAC and if we dont do something to stop this runaway

Part of what is happening with the tea parties and Glenn Beck are grounded in the activity within our movement over the last few years.

It is just that now you are starting to see more people coming into the mix than ever before.

    This is our time
W - I've never wanted more than now to be wrong. I will try to have full faith that the American people are strong enough and fearless enough that NOTHING and NOONE will stop them, not even on the issue of illegal immigration.

The Boston Tea Party of yesteryear was too send a message that the peeps knew the tax was out of control and they were ready to put a stop to it by whatever means necessary. They were ready to rise up.

Those days are gone and now we have a similar situation, but many things have changed...and times are different.

The Great American Tea Parties of 2009 are about taxes....but I think they are really about THE WAY THE TAXES ARE BEING SPENT. This definitely includes illegal immigration (medical, food stamps, translation services, education, incarceration) and corporate bailouts and bonuses. Our finances are being drained.

Illegal immigration is a huge hit to state and city budgets. This is our money..YOURS AND MINE. Our tax money is being wasted and they want more and more. It is time to put a stop to this abuse of the american taxpayer.

    My vote is YES.

    Yes.

Went to a tax revolt gathering recently along with thousands of others. CA is especially frustrated with our recent tax increases to feed the ever-growing state government beast.

I'm still weighing my decision on this so hope someone can answer,

    Question:

At the Tea Parties, do individual groups have tables, boothes, or whatever, set up where those in attendance can pick up information and literature on the particular group and the issue(s) which are specific to them?

Well, my opinion is that if they're not ready to stand up against illegal immigration by now, they never will be. I believe these are the same people who have watching the illegal alien problem grow and getting their information from the internet, and are now not afraid to stand up for what they think is right.
I agree, Tiny. Pardon the cliché, but it's now or never. IMO, we don't have the luxury of waiting for the tea party organizers and participants to come out of their shell on the illegal immigrant issue.

It's no secret that D-Day (the day for commencement or execution of an elaborate planned activity) for amnesty has been in the planning stage for some time now. Our opponents have failed on their most recent attempts because they underestimated our conviction, stamina, willpower, and strength. However, as evidenced through their changes in strategy, they're not going to give up and go gently into the night. I'm convinced that our opponents failures have made them stronger, wiser, and Lord knows more desperate. We must fight fire with fire. If we hope to win, we need to do more than react to events (IMO). It's time to get bold in our initiatives. If doing this mean we must attempt to interject our cause into the tea party theme, than I'm all for it. However, I do have some concerns about mileage obtained vs. energy expended. Isn't there the possiblity that our message will be diluted to the point that it may become insignificant? If that were to happen, we would have wasted a lot of time, energy, and money with very little results.

Yeah, but are these views being expressed at the actual tea parties? I've done a lot of internet searching and don't find that to be the case. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places.
