The publicity alone might be the attorney fees. That, and this should be a slam dunk.

If someone helped her get government benefits knowing that she was in the country illegally that's a violation of federal law.

Her order for asylum was refused once and she ignored a deportation order. Asylum for WHAT?!?!

He's gotta stay out of this case and let her be deported, else he will open a pandora's box he will not be prepared to fix.

Time will tell how smart he is. Can't blame the GOP for DEM failures anymore.

I believe she was here for asylum because of the violence in Africa. If I'm not mistaken, if it's a hardship like that, they can get temporary government assistance until thier asylum hearing. Unfortunatly, the immigration people don't inform the public assistance people of when their status has changed and they are to be deported. So she's been illegally collecting benefits since she was supposed to be deported.

I don't to this day, understand how they can track my every move and find me on a moments notice, track me down for 2.50, but people like this can go for years and nobody knows anything.....know nothing and suddenly this place can't tell that place anything that's going on, but for some reason there's no problem if it's a citizen. I just know there doesn't seem to be a problem having one authority inform another on alot of things with regular citizens.

I don't understand, if Obamas Dad was some high official of some group, why she would be in any more danger than any of the rest. Guess her case wasn't enough on her own merits and it will cause problems if they let her slide simply because she's a relative of Obmas.

I just hope this half-aunt does not become the poster child for what's to come under this administration. Is there some obsecure exception under the law which states that an illegal invader, who ignores an order for deportation, not only gets to change her mind and fight it- but likely will prevail and be allowed to stay in this country if she can demonstrate she's related to POTUS!

Because she ignored a deportation order for about 5 years she gets no consequences? I am getting fed up with people coming here giving our laws the finger. If I had been convicted of a crime and given an order to report to jail, I would have been picked up immediately had I not shown.

Onyango is upset because she believes someone leaked information about her immigration status to try to hurt Obama's candidacy.
You know, anybody with any shame at all would feel guilty about enabling the opposition by being in the US illegally, knowing full well that exposure could hurt the candidate.

Uhh...the "fight" was concluded five years ago and she lost, hence, an order of deportation (which she chose to ignore). Let us know when it gets too complicated for you, since as an OBL, i'm sure the rule of law means nothing to you....
