Lou Dobbs tonight Border Patrol Agents Await

    Lou Dobbs Tonight
    Monday, August 9, 2006

Join Lou for an hour of news, debate and opinion. Tonight, amid
ongoing fighting in the Middle East, we’ll continue our special
coverage with live reports from the region.

Two Texas Border Patrol agents await possible life sentencing,
having been charged with shooting a Mexican citizen who
attempted to smuggle drugs into America. Prosecutors gave the
smuggler full immunity to testify against the agents and a jury
convicted the officers on multiple charges including assault
with a deadly weapon. Incredibly, the prosecutor says the
Border Patrol pursuit policy prohibits the pursuit of someone
who is fleeing. We’ll bring you this unbelievable story
    tonight.

In a chilling development that casts strong doubt on the U.S.
government's ability to manage any guest worker program, the
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service responded to a Freedom
of Information Act request for H1-b data by saying…we can't
find it. They can't find the information on who they granted
visas to, or what companies they granted them to. How big a
problem is this? What does this mean for the possibility of a
    well-run guest-worker program?

The 9/11 Commission was so frustrated with repeated
misstatements by the Defense Department and Federal Aviation
Agency about their response to the 2001 terror attacks that it
considered an investigation into possible deception, the
panel's chairmen say in a new book. Republican Thomas Kean and
Democrat Lee Hamilton also say in “Without Precedent” that
their panel was too soft in questioning former New York Mayor
Rudolph Giuliani, and that the 20-month investigation may have
suffered for it. We’ll bring you that report tonight.

Vali Nasr, Middle East expert and author of "The Shia Revival:
How Conflicts within Islam Will Shape the Future," joins Lou
tonight to discuss the lasting impact of the conflict between
    Hezbollah and Israel.

And Michael Goodwin of the New York Daily News, Democratic
strategist Robert Zimmerman and James Taranto, editor of
OpinionJournal.com, sit down with Lou for a discussion of the
    issues most important to Americans.

    Visit http://cnn.com/loudobbstonight for more on
tonight’s show. And stop by the LDT show page or CNN.com to
read Lou’s latest commentary on why President Bush is spittin’
in the wind at the border.

This really confuses me. Does anyone have a news link to the entire story?

    Here's one.

The whole thing stinks, particularly this part:

    BEHIND THE SCENES
In the same Homeland Security memo, Christopher Sanchez outlines how the investigation into Ramos and Compean was initiated.

On March 10, 2005, Christopher Sanchez received a telephone call from Border Patrol agent Rene Sanchez of Wilcox, Ariz., who told the agent about Aldrete-Davila's encounter with Ramos and Compean.

According to the document, Rene Sanchez stated "that Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila's mother, Marcadia Aldrete-Davila, contacted Rene Sanchez's mother-in-law, Gregoria Toquinto, and advised her about the BP agents shooting Aldrete-Davila. Toquinto told her son-in-law, Rene Sanchez, of the incident, and he spoke to Osbaldo via a telephone call."

During the trial, the connection between Rene Sanchez and Aldrete-Davila confused the Ramos family, and "we questioned how an agent from Arizona would know or want to defend a drug smuggler from Mexico," said Monica Ramos.

Kanof bristled when asked about the Rene Sanchez/Aldrete-Davila connection.

"It's an unconscionable accusation that Sanchez is associated with a drug dealer," she said. "Most BP agents who are Hispanic have family from Mexico. He was born in the U.S. and raised in Mexico and came back to do high school and later became an agent."

The Ramoses also contend Aldrete-Davila's story changed several times.
So we've got a BP agent talking directly to a drug dealer to set up two other agents, and the government takes the drug dealer's side.

Every day my contempt for the Bush Administration reaches a new all-time low.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

    Horrible. I smell a rat.

How does a mexican national have citizen rights in our country? I can't believe he could even get immunity! What a scam.

Excuse me? My question is regarding the "citizen" part. He isn't a "citizen."

I have Lou Dobbs on screen now. The nation is going to be soooo pissed when they hear about this.

Thank God for Lou Dobbs, otherwise the people in TV land would not be hearing this news at all.
