Reaction to President's Address: Impeachment Sounds Good

America's dyslexic cowboy from Texas, aka President Bush, simply does not get it.

He proved that once again Monday evening during his live address from the Oval Office.

Despite the fact that America is showing signs of serious civil unrest because of out-of-control illegal immigration, Bush continues to advocate amnesty, and continues to deny that what he has in mind is, in fact, amnesty.

In addition, the president persists with his foolish argument that 'the vast majority of illegal immigrants are decent people who work hard, support their families, practice their faith, and lead responsible lives.'

Fact is, 20 million people invaded America, and no one, not even President Bush, knows a damn thing about any of them. Except, that is, for illegal aliens who make up 29% of the inmate population in federal prisons.

Bush seems to believe that Hispanic migrants are above the law, and due a presumption of 'goodness,' owing to a mystical 'good-hearted, hard-working' gene, no longer found in most American workers.

This 'reverse profiling' attitude toward Hispanics is not only discriminatory, it is outrageously dangerous in time of war.

To pretend there are no terrorists, or terrorist sympathizers, in a population of twenty million people who have demonstrated total disregard for the rule of law is sheer folly.

By sending a few thousand national guardsmen to the border, Bush is hoping he can placate conservatives long enough to pass amnesty.

Here is hoping real conservatives rally in sufficient strength to hand Bush a resounding defeat, akin to the Harriet Miers and 'Portgate' debacles.

Defeat seems to be the only thing this man really understands. Although there is another communication ploy worth trying:

How do you say impeachment in Spanish?

I agree, but I feel better than I thought I would after his speech. Yes, he failed to really take the action necessary to secure the border, and yet again he pushed his comprehensive (hate that word) bill. But, I think it does show that in two weeks since the infamous May Day march we have turned the tide as far as focus. Now at least the focus is on border security. Of course that still does not solve the core problems. Now we just need even more pressure for the Congress to address the enforcement issues the way they should have in the past.

Still hard for me to hear a President say he is proposing a method to secure our borders. I thought the President was suppose to take action to secure our borders...not just propose action. He has always had the power to issue an executive order to move any troops he needs to secure the border.

I am afraid that his border security focus is but a decoy to get amnesty passed. He still does not understand that the war on terror starts at that border---

I hope conservatives shove his amnesty aside and pass real tough border security first.

I will concede one thing. Two weeks ago, morons were marching in the streets demanding citizenship. Today at least a token effort was made to say no more!

I was with Jorge for a few minutes on point one. Then he started his assurances to Vincente that we wouldn't really have the Guard doing anything down there. He might as well have gone on and winked at Vincente. Why is the President of the US afraid of that jerk Fox?

Yes, I agree completely with everything you say.

Bush is operating on luck with the non-border security. Any day there certainly might be a terrorist act in our country that is traceable to those terrorist coming across the Mexico or Canadian border. If that happens, then maybe impeachment might become a reality.

It has always been a game to tie security to complete immigration reform. You can secure the border as a stand alone act. But still we got Bush to actually say the words that our border is not secure.

I am BEGGING you! What do I have to do to make you see? I will get down on my knees!

To my shame I voted for Bush twice ( not that we had much of a choice).
Just do your research. Do NOT rely on main stream media!

Research and look around you and see how things fit. That is all I ask.

It certainly will not solve the problem putting the guard on the border when he is talking about letting 217 million people in here over the next 20 years.

Yeah, makes me steam too. Fox does nothing to secure the Mexico side of the border because Bush is afraid to pressure him to do so. He probably needs Fox as a friend so he has a place to flee to when he gets impeached.

Great point. That is why we have to keep the pressure up on our Reps. to stop his smoke & mirrors trick.
