I understand the motives to be an independent. Rep Brad Miller's
office called me this morning to put a sign in my yard. I said no
because Brad's stand on amnesty for illegals undercuts labor & african
americans, both traditional supporters of dems. I got the same earful
from his office manager as from the emails from Brad or his assistants.
Don't know who I will vote for, but it will not be Congressman Brad
    Miller from Wake County, NC.

However, I struggle with remaining a dem. Wouldn't the dem party
be different if all the dem supporters of labor said 'hell no, no mo' &
we're not leaving the tent'? Dem message boards in NC are carping
because dem Heath Schuyler, running against Cong. Charles Taylor, is a
dem moderate! So, I understand the wish to leave the asylum, but
some adults need to remain or we need to create a moderate party
which will support labor & other groups of loyal & patriotic Americans
who will be forever hurt by unrestricted illegal immigration. Being
an independent means you're courted heavily every four years &
ignored the rest of the time.

I first came here with just the illegal issue. I think we need to get that settled first. There are many things that got us to where we are. Now that you're are aware, you can look for those things. It has required some crow eating for my part. I recommend some reading on Soros to begin. Then you might explore the differences between Tancredo and Ted Kennedy.

Perhaps this comment made in 1924 will help you feel better about it.

"The more you read and observe about this Politics thing, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other. The one that's out always looks the best."
