Loved this comment from the video above:

If your parents are rich, you get better opportunities. If your parents are poor, not so much. If parents are criminals, the child suffers. Parents always affect their childrens lives. No parent I know would dream of raising children illegally in another country.

The kids are under 18? Send 'em back with their parents & no whining about leaving friends or having to learn another language. Our military kids do it all the time.

The kids are over 18? They are adults & breaking the law like their parents. Send 'em back. Every other country would.

The problem is that we keep putting this off. We wouldn't have this situation, if we'd have sent them back right away.

Every year that you've been here should make the punishment worse. Here illegally? No citizenship or visa ever. Working here illegally? Fine the employer, too. Make it difficult to live here and you'll have enforcement by attrition. They can pay their own way back home.

The American Dream is for Americans. Legal Ones!

Agreed. There needs to be talk about the dual citizenship and holding of public office. Right down to dog catcher.
The problem is the US doesn't acknowledge duel citizenship or least its what they say. However those people who are US Citizens also retain their citizenship to whatever other country which cannot be taken away by the US. Such could only be taken away by the country itself and even in times when dual citizens have renounced their other country they are still welcomed back with open arms.

The US is in no position to remove someones foreign citizenship status and never will be. Hence how the problem is unsolvable as other countries simply will not give in if the US even demanded as much and will be quickly and happily ready to re-accept any returning citizen. Partially just for the fact they lived in the US and likely have some money or knowledge to benefit them.

    How about denying US citizenship.

Ahh but that means we allow NO immigrant to ever gain US Citizenship. Because even if the immigrant swears down his original citizenship that country will still renew it and allow them to return as a citizen with open arms.

For instance, a Filipino (my wife is Filipino) comes to the US as my wife. Gets a green card, eventually gets citizenship. Nice and legal like. She takes the citizenship oath and could even renounce her Philipine citizenship. However years later the Philippines like every other country will allow her to reclaim her citizenship no problem and nothing the US can do about it if she chooses.

She can even return right after she gets her US citizenship, reclaim her Philippine citizenship (which the US wouldn't even ever know about), and then has duel citizenship again as each country accepts her as their citizen.

So denying citizenship to those with citizenship of another country of course would never fly. We'd all be seen as racists who hate any immigrant because we refuse them any way to get status.
