Ted Cruz: First Thing I’ll Do As President Is Send Flowers And Condolences To Reporters Checking Into Therapy

He said the second thing he’ll do is start planning a pig roast on the South Lawn of the White House.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz poked fun at reporters at a town hall event last week, saying he’d send a condolence note to reporters and editors that would have to check themselves into therapy if he were elected president.

“Let me start by saying if I’m elected, January 2017, I suppose the first thing I should do is send flowers and a note of condolences to all of the reporters and editors who’ve check themselves into therapy,” said Cruz to radio host Jeff Kuhner at a WRKO town hall event.

Cruz also said he would start planning for a Cuban pig roast on the South Lawn of the White House on December 24, 2017.

I think he needs a new joke writer.

Another candidate who believes in forsaking American culture for some other nation's culture? Come on America, what are we thinking? I still cannot believe that Texans elected this guy for Senator! Is it to late to call for a recount? He is just plain embarrassing.

Yes, Americans love pork, Texas pork, Kansas City pork, Memphis pork, Carolina pork ..... his joke writer goofed up with the Cuban pig roast. That made it not so funny for a Senator from Texas wanting to cook-out on the South Lawn of the American White House. (Cuban pork might be really good, I love their black beans and rice, but it just dead-panned for a political joke, seems to me, at a time when everyone is sick to death and fed-up with where your immigrant grand-pappy came from). Good humor and political jokes are an art form. I used to go to the Republican Rallies with my parents and the thing I looked most forward to were the jokes, they were really funny, witty, good humor, non-controversial non-insulting jokes, and I always wished I could write a good joke like that. But never could, it's an art form. And if Cruz wants to tell them, I encourage him to get a new joke writer, a good one.
