Thousands attend Donald Trump rally in Panama City Beach

By Kristie Henderson Tuesday, October 11th 2016

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WEAR) — Tuesday night, Donald Trump made one of four stops in Florida where he held a rally at Panama City Beach.

Supporters waited outside the Aaron Bessant Park for hours before being let in the gates for the evening event.

Representative Mike Hill and Representative Matt Gaetz both gave opening statements at the rally and asked the crowd to show their support at the polls 27 days from now.

"Hold on, Donald Trump is coming," Hill told the crowd after stating numerous issues the country faces such as immigration, education, and second amendment rights.

Trump took the stage an hour after scheduled. His campaign announced to the crowd that attendance reached 11,200 and an additional 10,000 were outside the gate. Trump asked his supporters to register to vote, adding if he does not win this campaign will go down as just "an asterisk in history."

"The election of Hillary Clinton would lead to to the destruction of our country," Trump said.

Trump began his rally addressing the recent release of WikiLeak documents pertaining to the conflict of interest between the United States Government and The Clinton Foundation. Trump promised if he wins, he is going to ask his Attorney General to hire a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton.

Trump also told the crowd that he would protect Medicare and Social Security, while getting rid of The Affordable Care Act.

"It's a giant mess, a giant catastrophe that will ruin American healthcare," Trump said.

Trump heads to Ocala and Lakeland on Wednesday. He will be in West Palm Beach on Thursday.

Oh my goodness!! Trump was in Dallas yesterday morning, then did the O'Reilly Factor show, then flew to Florida, made 4 stops in Florida, and then spoke at the Big Panama City Rally arriving at 9:30 pm.

Donald Trump is a ONE MAN MACHINE.

This is the person we need to lead our country out of this disaster.

We need Donald Trump who has the vision, skill, commitment, and energy to get results, the results we want and need. Secure borders, better trade deals, lower taxes, replacement to ObamaCare, improved infrastructure and military, take care of our Veterans, bring our jobs back home, revitalize our inner cities and Make America Great Again for ALL Americans.

TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!! TRUMP!!

Trump fans in Panama City unfazed by controversy

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Hundreds of people were arriving this afternoon at a Panama City Beach amphitheater, waiting for the arrival of Donald Trump for an evening rally and casting aside doubts about the future of his campaign.

“He’s running for president, not choir boy,” said Marilee Denton, a retired dental hygienist from Lynn Haven. “He’s a strong man and a businessman who can change things.”

Trump is expected to draw thousands to the amphitheater in Pier Park, located just across coastal Highway 98 from the beach. The rally is set to begin 7:30 p.m. Central time.

His fans posed for selfies in front of a Trump/Pence campaign bus adorned with giant-sized images of the GOP candidates’ faces. They cheered as his campaign commercials played on a large video screen.

“I’m glad we could be with all the ‘deplorables,’ ” quipped Panama City business owner Jan Averett, referring to the way Hillary Clinton once referred to Trump supporters.

Averett, who came to the rally with Denton and another friend, said she was unbothered by audio recordings that surfaced Friday in which Trump could be heard bragging about using his star power to grope women.

“He’s just a man,” she said. “He said things that men say.”

Trump said as much in the immediate aftermath of the audio’s release and during the second presidential debate Sunday, apologizing for his words but calling them “locker room talk.”

Eddie Grice, a retired power plant operator from Tennessee visiting the beach with his family, said Trump bested Clinton in the debate.

“He went in limping, but I believe he came out great,” he said. “It’s funny how that stuff comes out right before (big events).”

Trump Thrills Thousands in Florida: ‘You’re Going to Look Back at this Rally for the Rest of Your Life’

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL – On a mid-October night in front of a crowd strewn out on blankets and beach towels just a stone’s throw from the Gulf of Mexico, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made another push in the solidly Republican part of Florida to heighten enthusiasm for his bid for the White House.

If Trump’s more-than-a-decade-old lewd comments caught by Access Hollywood are having any effect on his presidential campaign, they are not showing in northwest Florida.

As usual in the panhandle, twice — in Pensacola 100 miles down the coast and now in Panama City Beach — Trump easily achieved the capacity crowd set at 7,000.

Opening the event for Trump as he has often done on the campaign trail was former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Giuliani commented on the news of the day, in particular the recent revelations included in the WikiLeaks drop, and he called out Trump’s opponent Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I actually believe while looking at all these Wikileaks, we’re dealing with a pathological liar,” Giuliani said to a cheering crowd.

The heaviest applause was saved for Trump himself, when he immediately attacked Clinton as a “vessel” for the establishment.

“Hillary is a vessel for the corrupt global establishment that is raiding our country and ruining the sovereignty of our nation,” he said in the opening moments of his rally.

When asked by Breitbart News about the recently unveiled Access Hollywood audio from 2005 showing Trump making lewd comments about women, attendees shrugged it off and said he “was still better than Hillary” or that “Clinton had done much worse” while serving in government.

Trump told attendees should Clinton be elected, it could mean the end of such rallies and urged attendees to get out the vote.

“You’re going to look back at this rally for the rest of your life,” he said. “You’re going to remember this day. This is a movement like nobody has ever seen before. It really is. It is an amazing thing. We take it for granted almost. It is an amazing thing.

Panama City Beach is the first of four stops in three days in Florida for the GOP nominee. Tomorrow, Trump will make appearances in Ocala and Lakeland. On Thursday, he will appear in West Palm Beach.

Trump has lost some ground in Florida in recent polls — down by less than six points, according to the Real Clear Politics average.
