Friday morning, April 29, c-span broadcast a speech and forum
on "Homeland Security and Business".

What is most important about this event is the introductory remarks
made in the first 5 minutes of the video by Tom Donahue, the
president and CEO of the National Chamber Foundation.

Mr. Donahue states flat out what he sees as the means to drive the US
economy:

"1) Fast cycle logistics

2) International Travel

3) and immigrants in search of opportunity"

He goes on to say that we must make it easier for foreigners who want
jobs to come here and that we must give the hard-working illegal
immigrants who are already here the opportunity for an "earned
pathway for legal recognition".

Mr. Donahue's remarks make it clear that it is business that is
driving the transformation of the US:
