I just got home and tuned in to C-Span. Wish I understood all these procedural manuevers and votes better, I'm a little confused. Reid needed 60 votes for cloture, and he didn't get them. But why did he then vote No himself.......???

Sacrificial lamb IMO. Too much negative weight on the defense bill with other amendments. Once he realized the cloture vote wouldn't pass, he voted no. Dream act probably too irrelevant. Reid will just move it to another bill. Asked for a motion to reconsider the Defense Bill. Once all this lamenting is over we will see what happens to the Defense Bill.

That is what I am saying to people. Help our citizen criminals and their children if you want to help people. Why is it helping illegal aliens?

American children students go overseas to school. Teachers, military, missionary families go to other nations and their children go to school. Why can't the illegal aliens go to school elsewhere? They can.
