Unbelievable. Ya know, we have the best of intentions with the phone calls/faxes and stuff and maybe we feel that's all we can do at this point but I have felt deep down inside all along that the only way to sway these
traitorous bureacrats is to get in their faces, draw media attention and like all those crass illegals march in numbers.

All the Dems must have all toed the party line on this one despite their public reservations. Probably been made behind the scenes promises that all their concerns will be aleviated by no real enforcement!

Everyone check the announcements. We still have some victory in this and chances to beat this bill on the next cloture vote in Senate and in the house.

When push comes to shove there are not enough people in this country who really care about the issue of illegal immigration. I don't want to give up hope but i'm pretty sure this will go through and within the next few weeks we will have millions of illegals being counted as citizens. If this truly passes I don't think that we are ever going to be able to enforce our laws at all. Everyone will plead to the Feds that they were here in time for the amnesty and our border patrol will have their hands tied behind their backs. Gang violence and third world lawlessness will divide this country up into a shadow of its former self, with squabbling factions shooting it out in the streets. In the coming decades we will have a socialist dictatorship like Venezuela with non hispanics being treated as second class citizens in this country. Open borders will be a reality, as this senate bill practically calls for it already. More Americans will lose their jobs and those of us who do not learn Spanish will be on the unemployment line. I don't think anything short of a new American Revolution is going to change things. Think about the future of this country for your children and their children. What kind of America do we want for them? A multilingual one where the law has no meaning and our leaders have no integrity? One in which any citizen of any nation can waltz on in and be granted citizenship? I don't know where to go from here.

What's Byrd trying to get at, that the vote is void because they weren't at their assigned desks as required by Senate rules? Or am I missing something?
