Everyone please continue to contribute good questions - don't let them ignore the issue and then suddenly declare mass amnesty for illegal aliens whoever is elected!

Well, surprise, surprise: the MSM again ignores the issue of illegal immigration, and we'll likely soon be reading more articles about how this is supposedly not much of an issue now.

Despite the debate focusing on domestic matters, Schieffer asked no questions about immigration and both candidates support of mass amnesty. Instead, alot of blather about "Joe the Plumber" (who'll probably be on the cover of People magazine shortly), which the MSM will predictably feast upon.

Illegal immigration is just not a huge issue for most Americans including Republicans supporting McCain. You go to Republican forums and you see no mention or anger over the fact that illegal immigration was not brought up. They're all just happy McCain attacked Obama this time around and are jumping for joy that he might just have turned the momentum around

I guess they'll never care until the problem creeps up to their part of the country, which will be some 20 - 50 years from now.

Please contact Schieffer through his Face the Nation website to ask him to bring up the issue of illegal immigration and press Obama and McCain as to why they both support amnesty for millions of illegal aliens despite the fact that most Americans oppose this.

No chance of the moderator asking any questions out of the blue like that.Fact is that when setting up these debates everything including the subject matters are negotiated by the 2 candidates campaign people. And since niether candidate wants the general public to hear their plans with amnesty it will never be brought up.
We can't deport them all ? Just think of the fun we could have trying!

The illegal aliens are embedded in our society now, thanks to the government, who basically forced the lenders to loan money to illegals to purchase their homes.

Since there are millions of illegal aliens who are holding home mortages and equity loans, on top of those mortages here in our country, I think amnesty is a given. I think John McCain has known that for some time.

John McCain, along with a handfull of others, tried to put a stop to Fannie and Freddie giving out those loans to illegal aliens, but they were defeated!

I feel sure, McCain and others are in a no win situation. They know we (the Patriots, and others) are steaming mad about the coming amnesty, but they also knew there was no way they could deport millions of illegal alien home owners, because it would have helped to cause even more of a major financial melt down than we are seeing in our country now.

IMO...We must put all of our energy into fighting to get our borders protected now.
Ron Paul in 2011 "[...]no amnesty should be granted. Maybe a 'green card' with an asterisk should be issued[...]a much better option than deportation."

Yeah, but most Americans aren't as informed as we are on the issue.

And at least we tried. I read that the professional staff of "Californians for Population Stablization" said they had submitted numerous questions about immigration for the first two debates without success, and planned to do so for the third without expecting the topic to be raised.

Big Media is a part and parcel of Big Business, which wants the entire Western Hemisphere to become a large "Free Trade Zone" with "free movement of goods, labor, and capital"!
