    WHAT"S NEXT FOR MEXICO?

According to some recent TV news discussion panels (unfortunately I can't cite them due to my staying up too late to watch them and then getting a little rummy in the process!), the next president of Mexico will be a socialist. Vincente Fox is bad enough, but a SOCIALIST could be even worse. How many more hordes will illegally cross our borders when a socialist takes over that country?

I've also heard that building a fence would take 2 - 3 years, if it's built by the American government. 2 -3 years is much too long to wait. The Minutement have been working on building a fence on one part of the border, but they won't be able to build it along the entire border (that part of the border where a fence doesn't already exist).

The best solution to the border-crossing problem is a multi-pronged defense. The increased border patrol, the use of technology, and the building of a fence will help.

But the best defense is to somehow improve Mexico. A socialist president won't improve Mexico. Why are those people supporting a socialist? Is that what we can expect when Hispanics are the majority in this country?
That they will support a socialist candidate here?

The politicians seem to think that the Hispanics here today will be their supporters tomorrow if those Hispanics are given amnesty and ultimately citizenship. BULL!! I suspect the vast majority will support socialists in the future. It seems the socialists are the ones currently spearheading the illegal protests that have been so widespread and large in the past couple of months in America.

What's next for Mexico? I'll answer my own question -- what's next for America!

Don't let this happen to US. We must stand firm and fight illegal immigration.

They have other candidates we had an article about 2 of them the other day. One was named Slim he is a billionare businessman, who has a infrastructer plan for the country, already drawn up ready to go. He said they cannot begin to develope enough to compete until they upgrade all roads, electric, water, communications etc. He has also pulled a "Chaney" and created his own construction company to begin the work. Although most would frown on that practice here in the USA, I think this guy could and would really turn Mexico around. And seems to be willing to pour alot of his own money into doing so.

The other guy is a anti rich sort, who is ralleying everyone to hate the rich etc. They say he carry's a large vote so far but it appeared he had no plan for their future other than the same old crap.

Yes, jezzabell, that's what I mean. The "same old crap." Only with an avowed socialist the same old crap will be worse. So why don't the Mexicans elect the rich guy? I mean, rich isn't by nature bad. Seems he wants to make improvements, but like so many rich people he's been given a bum rap.

The socialists in South America (and ultimately in Mexico) will spread their America-bashing to this country. You'll see, they will turn our country into a socialist state once the illegals here get amnesty.

The whole amnesty question has so many unpleasant ramifications. And of course the "guest worker" plan is a joke. They never leave!!!

Mamie, I realize you're having some fun with the suggestion of a woman president for Mexico. But women can be as corrupt as men. Would Hillary make a good president????? And if you answer "yes" to that, then I think I need a new forum. :P

there was a woman a while back that went up against the Mexican government to find her son that is missing -- she had courage.

And you don't have to tell me how corrupt women can be -- I've seen it with my own eyes.

I didn't vote for Bill Clinton and most definitely would not vote for Hillary -- so you are free to stay!

I could care less who is elected president of Mexico.

Do you care who manages the local landfill?

What we need is a leader of our country who will stand up and tell the president of Mexico to butt out and mind their own business.

Where can we find such a leader??????????

Not in the White House and not many in Congress.

I have said before. Worked in Mexico many years. It is a strange thing about Mexico, it does dot really seem to matter what kind of party candidate they have. The corruption is so pervasive that it seems almost an impossible task to change. We do have some crooked politicians, but Mexico has a system that operates on brides from the highest to the lowest police officer. For instance, most police are paid so low that everyone knows they must take bribes to make any salary at all. Same with higher ups. The drug cartel money is so strong that they control most higher politicians. You can solve almost any issue by paying off the right person. Seen this happen many times.

The good news is that with all of their recent criticism of the US it has focused some attention back on their lousy system. The best favor we can do for Mexico is to stop the bleeding at our border. We don't need fences for that, just a Presidential order and troops. Can be done in days not years. If we get tough it will force Mexico to try to solve their problems rather than having us as the rich neighbors that provide for the people they failed to support.

Dataman, you may not care who is elected president of Mexico today, but if the socialist is elected, you will be caring about it in the near future. There are how many Mexicans? I think something like 150 million, so that means many MILLIONS MORE could come here -- especially if they have another corrupt and loony president.

I do agree that we need an American president and congress with the courage to stand for American citizens rather than the illegals. However, we've got to look at the whole situation. By only looking inward, we lose
the advantage. Afterall, knowledge is power and we need to be powerful.

But, again, I agree that the biggest part of our battle is with our own elected officials.
