    My JC Penny's Shopping Victory

I have to share my little victory with all of you.

On my lunch hour today I went to J.C. Penny's (if you don't have this retailer in your city, they're a department store chain) to do a little shopping.

Anyway, the overhead radio was playing a Spanish station (as usual), and (again, as usual), most of the shoppers were Hispanics speaking Spanish.

Not in a mood for this today, I started to get more annoyed than usual at how LOUD people who speak Spanish are (seriously, it just seems to me that they bellow).

So there were these three women (with a baby in a stroller) all talking a mile a mintue to each other, very loudly, in Spanish. So what did I do? I took my cell phone out of my purse and pretended to be on a phone call. I talked very loudly and very fast. I shadowed the women as they went from department to department, all the while carrying on with my fake phone conversation.

After awhile I could tell the women were getting annoyed with me, as they were giving me dirty looks. But I just kept on talking, and finally, they left the store.

    I felt victorious!!!

Good for you, I too am sick of hearing them blabbing loudly in spanish and my son informs me(who knows spanish) informs me that they make fun of americans as they think we cannot understand them. Where are the days when it was considered rude to speak another language in the presence of someone who did not speak it? Oh yeah right I am in america and these are illegal aliens, lost my head there for a minute

Now call the JC Penny Store management and explain you will not be back to shop there EVER until the Spanish is removed from the PA system. Get others in your area to call and make the same complaints.

The Old Shopping With a Stroller Routine!

    LOL!

I work retail. It's pretty common for people to come in with a kid in a stroller and fill up the stroller with shoplifted merchandise!

They probably thought you were Store Security!

Now that is a brilliant idea. I would like to try that sometime!

As for Spanish over the loudspeaker, the Walmart in Gilroy does lots of that.
