Why don't they use military to shutdown the Mexican border?
Just wondering: If the federal government is so serious about stopping illegal immigration, then why doesn't it send the regular military to shut down the Mexican border for, say, the next 12 months? mirse

Yes thats true!! you know we have other people's borders to secure, infact bush is pulling some of our border patrol to go to Iraq to train Iraq's soldiers to protect their borders, but they will probably be allowed to shoot back if they get fired at I'm sure they will take it more seriously over there

Bush doesn't have the backbone nor brains to send the military to the border.

The government, using troops, could close that Southern Border in a heartbeat if they wanted to do it.

There are more than enough troops here in the US to do the job. Only reason is Bush does not want to close the border...simple as that!
Only the President can act to secure the border without taking a vote or submitting to committees. He does not even have to have approval of his cabinet. The executive power to protect this country by just issuing an order rests with the President Of The United States. Instead Bush uses the immigration bill as a bargaining chip. If we don't pass the bill then he won't act to secure the border. I do not say lightly that I feel Bush is guilty of treason against our Country.

I have an idea...Since we don't need any "new" bills, why don't we send the SENATORS down to work on the wall, in place of the time they'd be spending on a new bill. Only then will we see progress made from the Senate!!
