Why isn't Colorado proposing a law similar to SB 1070?

Does anyone know why Colorado isn't proposing a law similar to Arizona's SB 1070? A few years ago, I spent several days getting petitions signed to limit services to illegals, only to have the referendum thrown out by the liberal supreme court. Colorado is usually one of the stronger anti-illegal (pro-legal) immigration states in the country. I was just surprised that it's not one of 17 states listed in previous posts. If anyone knows why, or if there's anything in the works, thanks in advance for your posts!

I think we are headed towards a tipping point, both in public opinion and in the balance of citizen power. For decades, citizens have been silenced by threats and insults. But thanks to the leadership and courage of Gov. Jan Brewer, that is finally starting to change, and rapidly too. (PS I am a fellow Coloradan)

no we are still silenced ... down here in arizona we are very carefull about what we say when we talk about this issue ...

if i were to put an i support SB 1070 poster on my front lawn , i could easily expect my home and car to be vandalized ...

the illegals are eveywhere and they don't want to go ..

I mean nationally, with so many other states looking into new laws. If you are in an area where illegals predominate, yes, I'm sure you have to worry about their revenge. They've been rewarded by our surrender for so long, it will take them a while to unlearn.

Colorado and all the other states should pass this law, and given the announcement by the feds that they aren't going to deport illegal aliens arrested by the states, then each state needs to add provisions to their bills that once illegal status is verified by the feds, and a deportation order is rendered by a court that they handle the actual deportation.

i don't think that legally they could do that ... but i think what states could do is claim that the illegals they have in custody could be terrorists , and thus get away with holding them indefently until the federal government takes them ...

we are not yet at the tipping point. In other states not near the border the apathy and media conditioning is still in full blown Arizona is evil racist rouge misbehaving state mode.

We have to keep getting the message out much more.
We have to be Extra mindful never to project anything which could be called racist, supremacist or other dehumanizing qualities about our affiliations and intents.

They have the full force of the media inspired and controlled Political correctness movement at their disposal. It is up to us to change the mindset of the media and the average citizen so that they understand that this issue is not just about being a citizen. Its about America and the rule of Law.

Sure states can handle deportations. There's nothing preventing them from escorting illegal aliens out of the state when a Deportation Order from a court has been issued. State and local law enforcement officers transfer prisoners all over the country for each other, so transferring an illegal alien to his/her home country is no big deal. The states for now would need to use the feds to confirm immigration status, and of course arrange for a Deportation Hearing and await a Deportation Order from the court, but once the order has been issued, there's nothing preventing any law enforcement officer from escorting them home.

At least, none that I'm aware of. And if there is, we'll repeal it.
