Many of the Rep. voters may oppose illegal immigration, but its not a deal breaker for them as it is for you guys. Most voters say, "So he supports CFR, but at least I agree with him 90% of the time on issues such as Iraq, government spending, etc".
Maybe you meant to say "Most Americans could NOT care less about illegal immigration . . "

Keep in mind that the Dems and MSM want people to believe that Americans do not care much about illegal immigration, but the evidence is otherwise. Just look at the ALIPAC News page to see how so many states and local governments are responding to their citizens' demands for action to control and oppose illegal immigration.

And also notice that illegal aliens are more noticeable and active in the hot summer months just ahead when they are loitering on street corners urinating in the bushes while looking for work from drive-by motorists.
Na. I meant what I meant McCain wouldn't be winning if all American's were such staunch anti-illegal advocates as you say. At the national level, the anti-illegal crowd is vastly outnumbered by the indifferent Republican electorate. Again, just look at McCain's numbers and you'll realize that CIR is apparently not a deal breaker for many Republicans.

McCain is going to get whooped.

I'm not claiming that the majority of the Republican Party is staunchley anti-illegal immigration. I am claiming that a significant amount are -- enough to sit on the side-lines and allow Hillary to get elected. McCain is MUCH more unpopular amongst his base than Hillary is amongst her base. Dems will get out and vote in significantly higher #s than Reps.

About independents, well many of them are strongly against illegal immigration as well, which is why they are independents to begin with (neither party has dealt with the issue on any significant level). Plus, there is not one issue McCain has over Hillary among independents. He will stand for the continuation of Bush's policies on the war, the economy, etc. They will see McCain as more of the same, and the country does not want more of the same -- check out Bush's popularity rating. McCain is close to Bush, and that is poison. McCain has ZERO to offer independents.

Hillary will win in one of the biggest land-slides in American history.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

    See you at the signing!!

Don't think so, but we'll see. She is isolating herself from the black vote and as long as she stays pro-illegal immigration with a path to citizenship, she will increase that isolation. A lot of Dems who are conservative are POed about the lack of immigraion control becuase their jobs are disappearing. Think about all of the hispanics that are against illegal immigration in this country. Not all hispanics are going to vote for her..and you know there are some Dems out there that don't want a Clinton back in the White House. We'll see.

If Romney was running against Hillary he could run ads stating that a vote for Hillary is a vote for increased unemployment because the illegals will end up taking your job for less money without fear of prosecution or deportation. McCain wouldn't be able to run an ad like that.
