If I vote for any candidate at all it is because I am voting for the lesser of two evils and then you still get evil......we need a third party and a fourth party and a fifth party....I heard it here from Judy...."The Democrats want to give the country away and the Republicans want to sell it."

    Seems to be true....
The Democrats want to give the country away and the Republicans want to sell it?

Mexican people are deeply devout Christians....most will vote Republican....and the GOP and the Catholic Church are pushing for this immigration to 1) increas the voter base and 2) increase the parishioners in church and thus tithing to the church.

Yes, they are deeply religious and some may turn to Republicans for that reason. However, they largely vote democrat in this state. The current mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa, is democrat as the Lt. Governor, Cruz Bustamante. They are involved in unions, human rights issues, etc. There might be a Republican hispanic somewhere here but I do not know of him or her.

Why would the Republican party want to anger Republicans like me by giving amnesty?
Because they are not beholden to you. (or any of us here).

Because as soon as they get to Washington, they are told that they MUST spend 3 hours of EVERY DAY raising money for their NEXT election.

They look at those who contribute to them financially. And most of those who have money to contribute either are investors, or those who own factories from overseas like China.

They would have to be, because America has very few factories, and even fewer that do not depend on some aspect of Chinese Imports.

Politicians look to those who elected them.

You probably thought that this meant you.

No, it means those who FUNDED their elections, or who gave tens of thousands to the party on a national level.

As to the issue of your vote, well that is nothing that a little electronic voting machine programming can't take care of.

Next thing that happens, you might even end of "voting" for the same ones again, even if you stayed home that day.

First you have to find a way to be significant in their day, in their election battles, in their strategies.

Maybe being here and being part of a coalition may help...some are more optimistic than others.

The only power most of us have left is the courts, and That won't last long.

We still should keep fighting though, as long as there is the CHANCE of defeating or stopping that House part of the Immigration bill.

Let's be brutally honest: THe Only thing that matters is when you force Politicians to STOP and PAY Attention to You. Its time to think about ways to do that.

Correct. The ones who pretend to be Republicans (like the current Attorney General of the United States) are Democrats in disguise. The average illegal-turned-citizen will vote with the liberals. Afterall, it is the liberals and socialists who have worked so hard to get this "immigration" issue to the forefront of American politics. The illegals, almost all of them, from whatever country they originated will support the liberals. And most of the Democratic Senators and Representatives are liberal. There were only 4 Democratic Senators who voted AGAINST Senate Bill 2611 yesterday.

If the Republicans want to act like D's then to hell with all of them.

To think these Republican senators care more about illegals and their potential votes is just senseless is it not? Why would Ken Mellman want to alienate the anti-illegal Republican base?

    Silly! Just silly!
If the Dems want to act like illegal aliens then to hell with them too. I've thrown brickbats at Repubs on the forums, but that's over. Glad their are individuals of both parties that are American citizens first.

Absolutely! If we don't fight, they automatically win! If we don't fight, we have no chance at all of winning.

It's like soldiers in a battle. Each one of them might think that his shooting his rifle isn't making much difference, but it's the collective action of all of the soldiers continuing to keep shooting and not stopping, even though they think they aren't making a difference, that will win the battle. We must keep on fighting!

    Hi adelantepresidente2,

This message thread seems to provide the answer:

And, they consider foreign nationals to be their constituents, not American citizens/voters/taxpayers.

What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?
