Wichita, Kansas schools floundering; 81 languages spoken in the school district

Red states turn blue as towns are colonized across the heartland!

If your community is considering “welcoming” refugees, please pay attention! Spartanburg are you listening!

Once you open a resettlement office in your town, the flow will NOT end!

I tell every group I speak to that the schools will be the first place to suffer if you open your city or town to refugees! See my Ten Things Your Town Needs to Know, here. And, remember it isn’t just the cost to taxpayers that will be felt, it is that education for American kids will suffer as teachers struggle to bring non-English speaking students up to speed!

Local and state taxpayers will pay for interpreters required by a Clinton-era Executive Order!

Yesterday Houston, today Wichita. Bye Bye! Red state
    America.https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wor...d-states-blue/

From AP via Fox News Latino:

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – The Wichita school district, which already has one of the most ethnically diverse student bodies in the state, is trying to respond to the challenges presented by an influx of non-native English speaking children from Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

The district has more than 350 students from other countries and 160 from other U.S. states who speak minimal English. Currently, 81 languages are spoken in the district, The Wichita Eagle reported. It has 11 classrooms spread throughout the district devoted to teaching recent immigrants and refugees.
    [….]

Because federal law requires schools to provide information to parents in their preferred language, an Arabic speaker is on call to help teachers and others communicate with families. And the district contracts with Propio Language Services, an interpreting service that enables teachers and parents who speak any language to converse by phone through an interpreter.
    [….]

The number of students speaking Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian has decreased while students speaking languages from Africa and the Middle East have increased dramatically in recent years, Hale said. Many in the latter group are refugees from camps in central Africa, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.

The 10 main language groups, in order, are: English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Lao, Cambodian, the Chinese family of languages, Bengali, Urdu and Swahili.

By the way, Arabic is the number one language spoken by refugees entering the US right now.
Local tax payers will foot the bill!

Ten years ago, fewer than 4,300 Wichita students required ESOL — English for Speakers of Other Languages — service. This year, 9,316 students qualified for services, or about 18 percent of the district population.

Wichita school board members recently said they worry a new block-grant funding plan for schools will prevent the district from getting more funding to provide services for the refugees and other immigrants.

“That’s a huge concern, because we will not be receiving additional money for those students,” said board president Sheril Logan.

Who is responsible for wrecking the school system in Wichita?

Start with the refugee contractors! Call them and ask for their “abstracts” to see what amenities they are bragging about and how many refugees they are bringing in.

What a shame! We need to stop all this nonsense. We need at least a 10 Year Moratorium on All Immigration and we need it now. Congress, please wake up and stop this madness.

I cannot see how 81 languages in one school district can be conducive to student learning. All this noise for years about equal quality education is apparently out the door. I would say that all parents of school age children in districts like this are owed some consideration for achieving a quality consideration. The way to end this might be to make it so tax costly that even the wealthy wake up to what they are causing with all this alien and migrant labor. I think it can be easily agreed that nothing else has worked at ending the destruction of America, excessive taxation gets every ones attention.

Footnote: if it is not stopped, excessive taxation is coming anyway and we all know it.

Scott Walker in practice appears to be a Ronald Reagan wage suppressor, so for me does not deserve another look. As such he will destroy middle class rather than rebuild them.

I seriously doubt you'll find anyone that will please you on every single issue. For me, halting illegal immigration and border security are my priority issues. Right now, Walker is looking better than anything else being offered at this time on what I consider my priority issues. Moreover, if Walker stays true to his word, he'll be doing more to increase wages than any other President has in years. Why do you consider him a "wage suppressor," is it because he weakened labor union control and reduced wages of overly paid WI. government workers to bring the state budget under control?

It isn't conducive to learning. It's anti-learning. It's paying property taxes to support school systems and handing out lunch money and dressing your kids up for school to learn only to have sent them to environments where they're treated like second class citizens with all the attention being fed to students who shouldn't even be in the country, let alone sitting next to our kids in school.

Schools are supposed to be the epitome of "domestic tranquility", the top of the scale of where to go to have your "blessings of liberty" secured and your "general welfare" promoted. Instead they've become dangerous unhappy places for American Kids. Why would parents want to continue sending their kids to such failed institutions? Why would American Taxpayers want to continue funding such places?

We have until early fall to select our presidential nominees. So, there is time yet to find a more perfect candidate than has announced. Dennis Michael Lynch on these issues blows all other candidates out of the water so far. But he is getting now exposure, no commentary.

You state that if Walker stays true to his word. For me with what he said a couple years ago, I do not which word to trust. To prevent being made a fool of, he having shown that what he said yesteryear may not apply today. I shall choose not to trust him. I'm not voting for IF's, but proven performance. I will not vote for the lesser of evils either. I do not know how to grade evil well. But evil is not that difficult to recognize.

Actually, we have until next summerl, more than a year away. Plenty of time for a "dark horse" to appear in the race to the race. I just think as a policy we should support all candidates who want to stop illegal immigration, deport illegal aliens and curtail legal immigration. If other candidates see support going to them, then they will change their tune, and even better, perhaps other people who didn't think they could win supporting our positions will come forth and say "I've always opposed illegal immigration, wanted all illegal aliens deported and these outrageous legal immigration numbers ground to a halt with at least a 10 Year Moratorium to give us time to fix the problem, remove illegal aliens from the country, and reset the system so what's happened to the United States never ever happens again."
