When I was 4 years old my grandma took me to a march in Chicago (where we were hosed down in the streets like dogs) and Dr. King shook my tiny hand, so I remember King very well. I grew up listening to Dr. King's speeches prior to him being "silenced" .

I am proud of those of the present generation who can look beyond race and see the potential of the candidate.

Although I see strong similarities in terms of the charisma of both men, I have to respectfully agree to disagree with those claiming that Obama is "mimicking" Dr. King.

Caroline Kennedy is endorsing Obama and stated that Obama reminds her of her father. I'm curious as to why no one thinks he's mimicking John F. Kennedy?

As usual, the media and race baiters are at work tilling the soil of America's deeply planted seeds of racism.

This generation of young Americans of ALL races gives hope to the possibility that one day America just may overcome. I hope I live to see it.

    Whatmatersmost,

Please read my original post carefully. I claim that Obama is mimicking MLK because of the way he is talking during his speeches.

To me, it sounds like he has studied the speeches of MLK and is intentionally trying to sound like MLK did when he spoke to audiences. My opinion on this is based on consideration of the methods and style Obama is adopting for public speaking.

I haven't listened to many MLK speeches, but I'd say it's more a case of Obama biting off the "southern black preacher" style while getting a pass from his dem-socialist constituency that characterizes the Huckster as a knuckledragger who believes the earth is 6,000 years old.

The guy is all style over substance. I've been watching his votes (or lack thereof) and he'll get eaten alive in the general election. That said, I can't completely write him off because it's hard not to like him. If he gets the dem nomination, pubs are going to have to come out en masse to beat him because the dems are showing up to vote this year. . If Obama and McCain make it to the general election, Obama will win because conservatives (including me) will vote for a third party candidate.

All being said about Obama, I will say this, he seems like a nice guy, but I would NEVER vote for him. Why, you ask? Because of his politics and the fact that he leans too far to the left for me.

Even if he had been a Republican (I am not so hot on who is now left on the ticket there either), I would question him as it has to do with his stance on illegal immigration, more than his color, his speech, or anything on how he presents himself.

Now, I would have supported Colin Powell. I liked him. But....he apparently did not like politics and thus his reasoning for no longer being in it all (can you really blame him?).

Who now? ~Sigh~.......Not sure, just not sure....................

    About Obama,
Geez, don't you guys get it?
Its all entertainment and show business, not about doing whats right for Americans. The deabtes are rigged, the candidates are insulated from any real questions, the media covers up all the Clintons corruption, they ask 3rd grader questions to the candidates and the same old questions over and over, the dems ignore illegal immigration. The media hasn't even mentioned once about the candidates connection to the CFR. They never ask questions about the NAU. What the hell are the"NEWS" media doing? They don't spend any money because they sure aren't investigating anything or reporting anything news worthy, they are making a killing just sitting around talking about insignificant junk. Remeber how they used to go all over the country looking for real news, now they just there and let the news come to them. They want the viewers to do their jobs by sending in video's and stuff. I guess thats what happens when you have a monopoly.

In the mean time I'm going to post some thoughts on illegal immigration and why any lawyer should be able to pursue a lawsuite against the politicians, employers, government and the illegals themselves.
Unless we get those criminals & make them pay for what they have done to our country and the lawlessness they have sponsored, we are just another Mexico ourselves!

    Americans aren't racist.
The employers are slave drivers no matter what the color of your skin.
The Clintons are trying to make it a race issue and as we see, Americans aren't taking the bait. The media is evil and stirs up trouble as well. I like Obama but I don't like his stance on illegal immigration, big government and global views. I don't think many Americans really support a global agenda and I don't think it is good for America. The only people that really benefit from illegals and the global agenda are the employers that make billions from it and the politicians that get millions from the businesses, other than that, they could care less about America or Americans. Their favorite colors are green and gold.

If we want to get rid of racism, then we need to get rid of racial groups, Ethnic names and special programs for certain races. We are all Americans and any government funded or subsidized program should be for all Americans and not for a specific race within America. All it does is promote the very thing it claims to be against. Another reason blacks and whites need not let the politicians and the media keep using this devisive rhetoric is because there are going to use this same rhetoric to try and force the illegals on us by calling us racist. We need to email them into oblivion and demand they stop this offensive agenda.
