I'm gonna try my granmothers recipe for sweet rolls for Thanksgiving. If you see me post on Friday you know that we lived through it.

I find it shocking that the ALIPAC boards are so rife with sexism.
Is it more sexist for women to think men can't cook?
Or more sexist to believe that my role is barefoot in the kitchen cooking a turkey?
Listen up ladies, I know many of you have sense of ownership when it comes to an oven that rivals the male territorial nature around a grill, but let me remind you that the Turkey is in the category with a whole deer or pig.
Male cooking takes precedence when you are dealing with a whole carcass usually gathered from hunting.
If you've ever seen some big southern males around a pig cooker, you will know what I'm talking about. Cooking a whole pig or more than one pig at a time is the only time that more than one southern male can work on the same grill or project. The grill is usually the sole domain of one lone male with rare exception.
Anyone attempting to approach a southern male in charge of a grill should proceed with caution and limit your interactions to small talk and offering to bring out more beer.
Since the Turkey is a hunted animal, a full carcass, and sizable... I pride myself on usually cooking a good one.
All you female kitchen chauvinists here better go watch some television or fix us up some gravy and fixins!

I think the next emergency turkey question from W. will be what to do with the leftovers.

Hey my hats off to ya. My ex-brother-n-law was in charge of turkey cooking. He smoked one and deep fried another. Without so much as a tear I'd gladly hand over the apron and pot holder........I missed the cooking gene that apparently women are supposed to get. My mom had it, my daughter has it......I don't. LOL My husband missed the grilling gene......he has no desire what-so-ever to attempt anything on the grill but likes to cook inside. He even likes to do dishes. LOL I'm like go for it babe.......my womanhood is not at stake on this one.

turkey leftovers...how about turkey Devonshire...the easy way.
Heat turkey slices in small amount of broth.[so it doesn't dry out]
In small saucepan heat cream of chicken soup [mixed with milk] add shredded cheese until smooth and creamy.
Cook bacon until crispy.
Make toast.
Place turkey on toast, then bacon, finally add the cheese sauce."It is error alone that needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself".

Depending on how you got your turkey you will either have to pluck all the feathers or remove the plastic bag before cooking.
Stuffing it is similar to dealing with a politician except you use different ingredients.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
