• Illegals arrested for murder of Border Patrol agent

An immigration enforcement activist says the arrest of two illegal aliens for the murder of a Border Patrol agent illustrates that despite the Obama Administration's assurances, the Mexican border is not secure.

Fox News reported that the two Mexican nationals arrested Sunday in connection to the brutal murder of Agent Javier Vega, Jr. had been deported six times.

The suspects were apparently part of a gang of armed Mexicans that local farmers spotted wearing military fatigues while marching through their fields.

William Gheen is President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC. He says that the murder shows how insecure borders have become. Gheen "Agent Vegas' tragic murder, being killed in front of his mother and father, is actually symbolic of how the Executive Branch – first under Bush and now under Obama – refuses to enforce the existing immigration and border laws in the United States," he tells OneNewsNow.

Gheen says the American people must hold their political leaders responsible for what is going on at the border. "It is only through great and pervasive American apathy that our nation can be invaded and politicians can run so far amok without correction,” he says. “Hopefully the death of Agent Vega will get more people involved, but unfortunately a lot of people out there are not going to get involved until it's their loved one that is killed. Then they’ll get involved."

Gheen says the death of Agent Vega illustrates that the federal government is not doing its primary job of protecting American citizens from those who come from the outside to harm us.
