CUMMING, Ga. -- A family is fighting an immigration mix-up that may force them to send their 11-year-old daughter back to Poland.

The Forsyth County girl, whose father is a U.S. citizen, could be deported if she doesn’t leave the country by July.

Ewelina Bledniak hasn’t been in Poland since she was 2 years old, but now immigration officers are ordering her to return and wait a year before she can come home.

Our gov't goes after everyone but the majority illegals.

Racism at it's ugliest............the kid is white and not Hispanic........that's two strikes against her in this administration!

Either we support the deportation of illegal aliens or we don't, can't have it both ways.

I agree MW, we shouldn't make exceptions. Everyone makes mistakes in life and their are consequences. A child living a year with her grandmother is no big deal. Rich kids get sent off to private schools for years.

They've already bought their plane tickets to Poland, they are willing to do it the right way.

They didn't call any "advocates" or call for marches, protests, civil unrest, etc. They are not screaming "raaaacism" or demanding reform, they will respect our laws.

If we have no problems deporting this child, there is NO excuse in the world why we can't deport MILLIONS that are illegally here. This is a really unique situation where the parents are BOTH legal, but their minor child is not.

Her mother has a green card and her father is a U.S. citizen.
With one parent a U.S. citizen and the other one a green card holder she bleong here a lot more than the anchor babies of 2 illegal aliens.

I don't think illegal aliens should be living here, period.
What I don't understand is why she isn't a citizen automatically if her father is a citizen.
I also find it amusing (sarcasm) that I can't recall reading about illegal children from south of the border being deported if both parents hold green cards, and neither is a citizen. Children aren't deported if both parents are here illegally in most cases.
They should first give the girl a dna test to prove he is her bio father, and give her citizenship if he is. After all, the mom is here legally, and hasn't broken any laws, and the (alleged) dad is certainly legal, so why send the little girl to Poland?
I would rather see her here than those that sneak across the border.
It would seem that she is being deported because she can't scream "RACISM".

I don't think anyone would argue that fact with you. However, the truth is no illegal alien actually belongs here. I'm with Dixie, no exceptions. IMO, that's one of the problems we're having now, too many darn exceptions being made.

Perhaps he and the mother had the child smuggled in after the father gained citizenship, or maybe the father married an illegal whom gained legal status as a result of the marriage, and then the child was smuggled in. What actually happend is anyones guess.
