50 people arrested in California in what authorities call deadly race war

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Fifty people have been arrested in a crackdown of two Southern California gangs that were engaged in what authorities call a deadly race war.

The multi-agency bust culminated Wednesday with 20 people being charged who were either alleged associates or members of a Hispanic gang in Riverside controlled by the Mexican Mafia.

Thirty other suspects were connected to a gang with primarily black members.

Authorities say both gangs were involved in violent crimes and targeted one another. They say the Hispanic gang ordered members to attack and kill rivals.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Fifty people have been arrested in a crackdown of two Southern California gangs that were engaged in what authorities call a deadly race war.

Why do we bother putting them in jail, where they grow more violent and recruit more members? They should get the death penalty, that should work as a deterrent. Un-flipping-believable!
