Border Patrol agent shoots across border near Naco

NACO, Ariz.- A Border Patrol agent fired into Mexico Monday morning, after seeing an individual in Mexico allegedly pointing a weapon at him, according to Customs and Border Protection.

CBP said the agent was apprehending an individual on the U.S. side of the border around 6:25 a.m., when he saw a person he believed was pointing a gun at him from the other side of the border.


Fearing for his life, the agent fired in the direction of the individual, CBP said.


It is not known if anybody was hit on the Mexican side of the border. U.S. officials are working with Mexican authorities to determine if anybody was hit.
