I agree 100%. Another 14th Amendment issue related to former slaves is Congressional districting. Previously slaves were counted as only "3/5th of a person" for census and Congressional district apportionment purposes. The 14th Amendment mandated they be counted as "whole persons", no different that white Citizens.

Of course our corrupt politicians have taken that to mean "all persons" including illegal aliens when it does not.

Actually even better for us it was not an Amendment that allowed American Indians to vote, but a law passed by Congress. This illustrates how Congress alone by majority vote can determine who is and is not a natural born citizen, Constitutional Amendments are not required.

The actual wording in the 14th Amendment is "excluding Indians not taxed", in other words Indians who recognized the sole authority of their tribal governments and not the US government, were not natural born citizens and were not counted in the census for Congressional districting. For 60 years after passage of the 14th Amendment most American Indians born on US soil were not given birthright citizenship, even though they had lived here for over 10,000 years!

And yet now the US government thinks children born to foreign criminals who are subject to a foreign power, and possibly have never lived here are US citizens?
