A Call to Violence on a Facebook Page for Upcoming Rally Supporting Illegal Immigration

Demonstrations, rallies, and protests are all valid exercises of our constitutionally guaranteed right of free speech. However, in a democratic republic, such political speech must never include violence or threats of violence!

Last year as undocumented immigrant youth, we began to publicly defy fear and criminalization by declaring to be "undocumented and unafraid" in the pursuit of equal rights, immigration reform, and the DREAM Act. It began here in Chicago on March 10th, 2010 and then spread all over the nation. Since then, young people have been coming out to their friends, teachers, legislators, classmates, which have even lead to actions of civi...l disobedience in Arizona, Washington D.C., New York, Illinois, California and Texas. This has been the first time that the undocumented youth movement has taken ownership of our actions, our politics, our stories, and the risks that we are willing to take for the movement.

One year later we are still undocumented, and still finding people who have lived silent and scared. We believe that being able to speak publicly about being undocumented, despite our fears, let's us remember that we are not doing anything wrong, and that we have the right to be here and be treated as human beings. It is also a way to challenge immigration enforcement to make a choice: take action and show the world that the people they are deporting are us, students, workers, their friends, classmates; or stay silent and affirm our right to be undocumented, unafraid and unapologetic.

A note to the undocumented: Please know that as individuals and as an organization we have experience doing actions like this, including civil disobediences where as part of the strategy undocumented youth have gotten arrested. Immigration enforcement has never intervened, as we are all still here. None of us are planning to get arrested this time, it is NOT a civil disobedience or direct action. This is a rally to empower undocumented people, but we wanted to make sure you knew that in our experience immigration will NOT show up (and that if they do, it would be bad for their public image and good our movement). We also have legal council and training should any one get harassed, etc. Lastly, even if someone does get detained as a result of coming out, we have won every campaign to fight youth deportations, and we will win again.

and look at all the up coming Rallies, the name of this is "Coming out of the shadows!" Exactly when were you in the shadows?

They are becoming very brave. Someone should send ICE the Facebook page.

Really look at this map the states with the most illegals are up in the billions!
Schools are being closed, roads are going to shit, and nobody is willing to stand up and say "We can't carry you anymore!" With 20 million Americans (government low ball no.) out of work, guess what? there's nobody paying the bills!
