    Yea, I heard somewhere about the coup as well. I wonder how many other democracies we (err, I mean, the elite) try to overthrow. I read that the Haiti overthrow of their elected leader may have been encouraged by our government. It's ironic, given all the rhetoric our leaders give to democracy.

    The only criticism I've read of Chavez is that he may be a little too powerful - sort of like an elected dictator. But he sounds like a good guy as far as his inclinations toward how he uses power.

    I like the idea of using the oil revenue to benefit the poor. So, I'll buy my gas at Citgo. In addition, we'd be supporting a pro-democracy, anti-FTAA government, which is good too.
