Congressional Pledge Against Amnesty for Illegal Aliens Take

Congressional Pledge Against Amnesty for Illegal Aliens Taken by Candidate Paul Schiffer in Ohio for 'ANCIR'

    Christian Newswire
    February 10, 2010
    CANTON, OHIO

Paul Schiffer, Congressional Candidate in Ohio's 16th Congressional District, has taken the pledge of the American Council for Immigration Reform to oppose amnesty in any form for illegal aliens, and to push for the enforcement of America's immigration laws, with the goal that trespassers in the United States will voluntarily return to the countries where they have a home and a place of their own. Paul Schiffer pledged:

"I pledge to oppose amnesty or any other special path to citizenship for the millions of foreign nationals unlawfully present in the United States. As a member of Congress, I will support the full implementation of enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population. I also pledge to make security of our borders a top priority."

Schiffer clarified: "Which immigrant will make a better future citizen? Someone who shows respect for America's laws or one who shows no respect and only contempt?

There is no comparison between law-abiding immigrants who come here legally and honorably to become U.S. citizens and those who steal across the border illegally and trample our laws. We honor and respect those legal immigrants who show respect for the laws of the country they wish to join.

America's immigration laws should give at least as great a priority on foreigners who follow the legal way to apply to come to the U.S., are law-abiding and honest as to those who knowingly and willfully break America's immigration laws and once here, show contempt for any of America's laws.

As ANCIR's pledge makes clear, illegal aliens who return to their home country may re-apply to legally enter the United States, but should not be given any preferential treatment as a result of breaking American immigration laws over other immigrants who have followed the legal process and are law-abiding and honest individuals."

Why would an illegal alien be given the opportunity to re-apply to legally enter the US? Why would ANCIR include that as part of their pledge? Has ANCIR been infiltrated by the Open Borders Lobby?

I think they're a front for the Open Borders Lobby. Beware Americans, the wolves in sheep clothing are everywhere.

    What is ANCIR?

The American Council for Immigration Reform (ANCIR) is a volunteer 501(c)(4) citizens organization. Our goals are to educate the public on the problems created by current U.S. immigration policies and to promote legislation to correct them.

    Principles

In recommending an immigration policy, we recognize three principles:

Immigration to America is a privilege and not a right
Immigration policy is a discretionary policy
Immigration policy must promote the national interest
    Issues

Issues to consider in adopting reforms include immigration's:

Impact on American workers — skilled, unskilled, and minority.
Effect on population growth rates and the environment.
    Effect on the poor.
    Effect on community life.
Effect on our hospitals, schools, housing stock, and farmlands.
    Impact on national unity.

    Recognition

Overwhelming numbers, illegality and failure to assimilate are legitimate items for complaint. However, legal immigrants and naturalized citizens are our new brethren and must be respected and allowed to prosper.

I've seen that ANCIR before. I don't understand why they would want a pledge to allow re-entry of an illegal alien unless they actually support that Guest Worker Program where they leave and then get "at the back of the line" and the authorities then give them all a permit as fast as they can hand them out.

Sounds like AMNESTY! Or will the ILLEGALS who return to their home countries be required to pay a $100 fine before the re-enter the United States?

My thoughts exactly. This is a front group for more immigration.

When was this group founded? who are the officers of this group? What are their backgrounds? Can anyone find anything this group has done before? Are they allowed to do things like pledges for candidates as a 501(c) 3?
