LUIS GUTIERREZ WARNS 'BIRTHERS' & 'TEA PARTIERS' DEPORTATIONS WILL LEAD TO MORE TAXES, BAILOUTS

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) said "birthers" and "Tea Partiers" would be unhappy with more government bailouts and higher taxes that would result from the deportation of more illegal immigrants.

Gutierrez said that "when hundreds of thousands of homes come on the market all at once, the U.S. government would cope with massive bankruptcies and cries to bail out the U.S. farmers whose crops are rotting in the fields of this nation from coast to coast."

Speaking before the House Rules Committee on Wednesday evening, Gutierrez blasted the "Tea Party and the Birthers who oppose everything the President is for" by saying:

When the economy takes a severe hit because the government is removing roughly 5 percent of the American workforce... how is the Tea Party going to feel about a government bail out? How much is the Republican majority willing to raise taxes to pay for deporting 11 million people?
"Yes, the Republican Party is betting the farm on the idea that the American people think deporting all 11 million people is not only realistic, but desirable," he continued. "Oh, and don’t forget we will have to hire and buy fuel for 55,000 airplanes, pack them with 200 immigrants each and fly them out." Gutierrez did not note that the Obama administration found the money to offer some prospective federal government employees six-figure salaries to implement Obama's executive amnesty.

Gutierrez said that, "in this case, when I say betting the farm, I mean it literally—the entire American farm, and agricultural industry, and millions of farm workers, grocery stores, and families at kitchen tables are going to be turned upside down because the Republican majority is suggesting that the status quo and doing nothing is somehow upholding the Rule of Law."
"No, what we are sending to the floor of the United States Congress is yet another symbolic and superficial bill supporting the fantasy that every single undocumented immigrant should be deported," he said. "The Republican majority is planting its flag firmly on a myth that the United States should, would, or could deport 11 million people. And that it would be a good idea for our economy, our security, and our sense of humanity as a leader among all the other civilized nations of the world."

Though federal immigration agents have said that it is nearly impossible for those who are not the most violent of criminals to be deported under the Obama administration's use of prosecutorial discretion, Gutierrez said "moms and dads" who are "working at the car wash and playing ball with their children" will be deported ahead of "murderers and rapists" if Republicans pushed for tougher immigration enforcement.

It's a lot cheaper to deport illegal aliens. And who are these illegal alien "moms and dads" working at the car wash? That would be illegal employment and violations of US Immigration, US Civil Rights and US Labor Laws. Plus we already know from the CIS study that 71% of illegal aliens are on welfare.

Deportation not only saves money over processing illegal aliens into legal status, it opens up jobs for unemployed Americans, creates seats in colleges for Americans who would like to attend college or university, and reduces the masive burden on our welfare system, public education and law enforcement.

Deportation is a Home Run, from all standpoints.

Luis, I was hoping for 20-40 million deportations. If we ever, I do not think we will, clean house why would we not be thorough? Typical of American politicians though, when they do get around to doing their job, it is seldom done as well as half-a$$ed.

That's how many there really are. The government lies about the number of illegal aliens in the country. I think and have for awhile that it's closer to 60 million. Just imagine how great our country would be if they weren't here. That is the AMERICAN DREAM, a sustainable population, real actual full employment, high livable wages, the FairTax so everyone goes home with their money, American manufacturers pouring back in to operate tax-free under the FairTax, all our capital investment stored off-shore rolling back in to invest in America tax free and trade protected by the FairTax, illegal aliens scurrying out of here on their own because they can't get a job because we passed E-Verify, they can't afford to live here because they're ineligible for the FairTax Rebate, they can't sign up for welfare because they've no phony fraudulent tax returns to show the welfare agents because of the FairTax, etc., etc., etc. and guess what? They not only leave, they stop coming. Yes, WE CAN DREAM, TOO!!

Bingo, as a retired senior on fixed income I would be happy to provide Mr. Gutierrez transportation to the border of his choice, the man does not represent America.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

He most certainly doesn't represent American citizens who vote for him and never votes for the best interest of our American nation.

The so-called Fair Tax, which many call the unfair tax, is not the answer to our illegal immigration problem. Actually, the "unfair tax" is not the answer to our tax problems either. Those that suffer the most under fair tax are the middle class and those that benefit the most are the wealthy. As for the poorest in our country ....... that's all we need to do ......... hand out more subsidy checks (called rebates under the plan). Nope, anyone that has thoroughly researched the fair tax plan knows it's a non-starter. Of course that is why the idea has never really received any serious consideration after the many years it has been floating about. Just saying .........

No one has "researched" the FairTax harder or longer than I have. Economists, which is my minor, have been researching and overwhelmingly approve of this tax over the income tax since the 1970's when I was in college. The difference between what we studied and approved of then and the FairTax are 2 provisions, one is the Rebate, the equivalent of a personal exemption you clearly approve of in the current income tax, and the second is that states collect it efficiently along with their state sales tax. These 2 provisions solve all the problems with a national sale tax in lieu of a federal income tax. And, MW, if you had actually studied and researched this type of tax you would not still be hanging your hat on a Century of Failure, which only socialists, communists and the income tax lobby call the "unfair tax". You're falling for the same dribble written by the same people who fund illegal immigration.

Just Sayin'. And the reason the FairTax hasn't passed yet is because the same people jerking your chain on illegal immigration are still in office. The FairTax has more co-sponsors than any major legislation introduced into the US Congress in a Century with 76 Sponsors in the US House of Representatives and 9 in the US Senate. If ALIPAC really wants to align with the folks trying to fix our country, they will align with these 85 and press the case that the FairTax does more than any single piece of legislation to stop illegal immigration into the US and if you need help in understanding why and how, I stand ready to explain, show and assist in that endeavor. Besides, MW, you've been posting the same ole income tax lobby "unfair" tax talking point for 8 years or more, so you're free to do so, but the Facts are out there and the debunking of that "unfair" tax piece readily available on the FairTax website at www.fairtax.org.

See, the FairTax was devised by economists, economists who were paid to arrive at a new tax system, no politics, no self-serving interests, just study and find the best tax system to promote our economy, create livable wages for our citizens, and protect our trade while preserving freedom, liberty and privacy, things that are very important to most Americans, and what they came up with is the absolutely most perfect tax system ever devised anywhere by anyone. Yet the cowards and traitors in Congress let a new tax system be buried in committee for the same reason they let E-VERIFY and the CLEAR ACT sit idle.

The Rebate is not a "subsidy" check. This just shows how little you know about either the income tax or the FairTax. The Rebate is the same as the personal deduction you claim now on your income tax which exempts that portion of your income from taxation. The Rebate does the same thing under the FairTax, and it does it for every American citizen and legal permanent resident in the country who wants to sign up for it. Do you claim the personal deduction on your income tax? Do you consider yourself being "subsidized"? Are you on welfare of some type because you claim yourself or spouse or both or dependents on your income tax? Well, if you do, do you want me telling you you're living on government subsidies? The Rebate is the same thing which exempts the FairTax on spending up to the poverty line, whether you spend it or not, you sign up for it based on Social Security number and age of persons in your household. It has nothing whatsoever to do with income. Every citizen and legal permanent immigrant is entitled to it the same as they're entitled to a personal deduction on their income tax. Also, the "unfair" tax lobby claims that it's really a 30% tax rate instead of 23%, because they don't understand the difference between an exclusive tax like state sales taxes that are added on to the price versus an inclusive tax that is already included in the price you pay. The reason it was set up this way is because that's the way the income tax rates are calculated so to do comparative research between the income tax and the FairTax, the method of calculating it needed to be the same for determining revenue generations.

I fully understand that people who work in the incomes tax business will oppose the legislation from tax preparers to tax attorneys. I even understand that people who have unique situations where the income tax and all its ugly glory provides them multiple tax avoidance opportunities, but that is a very small % of the American voting block. The vast majority of Americans will love the FairTax and most who know about it already do in fact, and they love it more and more the more they learn about it.
