Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott went scorched earth on Joe Biden over his failure at the U.S.-Mexico border.

During an interview on Fox News, Abbott told host Sean Hannity that officials are going to start arresting and jailing border crossers in Texas.

Below is a transcript of the exchange:

ABBOTT: “I don’t think this has ever happened before where a disaster declaration was made for border counties because of the influx of people coming across the border. But I did because we are about to change the way that Texas addresses the challenges on the border, and we are going to start by helping these 34 counties respond by increasing arrests. We’ve got a new game in the state of Texas that’s going to begin next week, and that’s we’re going to start arresting —“

HANNITY: “Governor, why can’t you just say, ‘You’re not allowed in,’ and just protect the border and say, ‘Go back?’”

ABBOTT: “I’ll be very clear with you, Sean. And you may remember this, I know you did interviews on this more than a decade ago when you talked to Jan Brewer. When Jan Brewer was governor of Arizona, Arizona passed laws that did exactly that, where they would send people back and they would not accept people. And the law that Arizona passed went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court in a case called Arizona V. the United States, where the United States Supreme Court said Arizona does not have that. You know the attorney general that I used to be, and so I followed the law and the law that I’m going to use will be legal ways in which Texas is going to start arresting everybody coming across the border — not just arresting them, but because this is not going to be aggravated trespass, they are going to be spending a half a year in jail, if not a year in jail, as well as other actions that I will be announcing next week.”

HANNITY: “Governor, I applaud all your efforts. I know you are trying to protect the people of your state and the United States. You’ve done a great job in spite of having handcuffs put on you by the Biden administration. Thank you for being with us. Good luck in your reelection. You’ve done a great job for the people of Texas, sir.”

Earlier this week, Abbott declared a state of emergency in response to the escalating immigration crisis facing the Biden administration.

With an unprecedented surge in immigration, Abbott issued a disaster declaration along the state’s southern border with Mexico to provide additional resources and strategies to combat the ongoing influx of illegal aliens entering the United States.
“Texas continues to step up to confront the border crisis in the federal government’s absence, but more must be done,” Abbott stated.

Last month, Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton sued Biden’s administration for allegedly releasing Covid-infected illegal aliens into the United States.

Paxton accused Biden of putting Texans “at-risk” with an influx of migrants who have coronavirus.

During an interview on Fox News, Paxton said the Biden Administration “adopted this policy of open borders and they’re sticking with it despite the consequences of the spread of COVID, human trafficking, increase in drug trafficking, and an increase of crime and just general chaos.”

Paxton said Texas will take legal action against the Biden administration.

Put them in a Tent City with NO amenities.

Serve 7 days, fingerprint, and then deport them with NO chance to ever come back.

Fast track the pregnant, sick, and UACs back to Mexico to their Embassy to transport back home!
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
