Graham calls for 'tough line' on waves of illegal immigration

Sen. Lindsey Graham called on Congress, and specifically Democrats, to pass immigration reform legislation that would increase border security and stop future wave of illegal crossings like those happening now on the southern border.
“Showing the American people we will take a tough line on future waves of illegal immigration helps build the necessary political support to deal fairly with the problems created in the past,” the South Carolina Republican said in a series of tweets Monday.
Graham’s social media commentary came in response to the wave of illegal immigrants rushing the U.S. border at San Ysidro, Calif.
The immigrants, part of a caravan from Central America, have thrown rocks at U.S. border agents, who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas.
Congress has about two weeks to pass a 2019 spending bill that would include at least $1.6 billion in wall funding. President Trump and some congressional Republicans want at least $5 billion.
It’s not clear yet how the border clashes will impact the negotiations.
Graham said in his tweet series that those who back “dealing fairly” with people now living here illegally “should make it clear the lawless behavior occurring at the southern border crossing will not be tolerated.”
Graham, who is set to become Senate Judiciary Committee chairman next year, said Democrats “can also offer their strong support for additional efforts to secure our border today and in the future.”

I don't think it's sunk in yet for Lindsey what happened on November 7, 2018.
Donald Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 by 2.9 million votes nationwide, but won the majority in 30 states to seal a significant fix-our-country win for the Presidency through the Electoral College.
Republicans in the US House of Representatives lost the popular vote in 2018 by over 8 million votes nationwide to seal a significant future-changing win for Open Borders DemoQuacks.
DemoQuacks don't want to secure our borders, they want to open the borders. Congress isn't going to do anything at all to fix any of our immigration issues.Last edited by Judy; 11-27-2018 at 01:43 AM.
