They should be voting on a bill with everything in or out that is supposed to be, case closed - no phases. It is unbelievable! Still illegals entitled and Trump approves??? It seems they want to replace aca with anything, just to stay they did that. This is so similar, why even bother?

This is getting murkier, more swamp-like with each day that goes by. How are we that voted for Trump supposed to tolerate opposite actions/inactions by Trump, ryan, mcconell. Who is running the WH? Where is the fulfillment of campaign promises?

Judy, I am following the ball and all I see is it being pushed away from the goal. Talk and more talk. He tells his base that he will deport all illegals and that he will end DACA on day one and then he tells DACA that they will be happy because he has a really big heart. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Maybe they'll still work something out because, according to Carlton Tucker (5 minutes ago), they are working on it as we speak and a deal is getting closer. Rep. Meadows has now become optimistic. Like you said, we'll see.

I think the Freedom Caucus is doing us a big favor. They are fighting the bill because it's full of entitlements and supposedly it won't lower insurance premiums. They are also fighting it because it still enables illegal aliens to get tax credits. We don't need a mess of a bill that requires lots of PROMISED fixes at a later date.

According to Hannity on Fox and his guests Mark Meadows and Dave Brat, they've worked with Trump all evening, everything is agreed in principle and all they have to do is write up the bill. Meadows is giving Trump all the credit, giving hi a big shout out for working out the details. Dave Brat is saying the same thing.

House Republican leaders emerged from a 13-hour session without having the required votes to pass President Trump’s new health care bill. Lawmakers might not be ready to move the bill Thursday.

Hannity had a live breaking news alert on this at 10:42 pm and Meadows and Brat came on all grins, super excited, and at least they believe Trump made a deal and everyone is in. There's some write ups that will happen through the night and some coordination with the Senate to make sure everything they've done passes muster with their Budget Reconciliation Rules, but based on what Mark Meadows said, he thought the bill would pass the House sometime tomorrow night. Not sure when the Senate votes, maybe tomorrow night as well. They wanted to pass it on the anniversary date of Obamacare which is tomorrow, Thursday, March 23rd.

We'll see what happens. I hope it passes in good order and with flying colors.

If the bill get a stamp of approval from the Freedom Caucus, maybe I can support it. The Freedom Caucus is the most conservative group in the U.S. Congress. From what I'm hearing they are not going to support a bill that is chocked full of entitlements and benefits illegal immigrants.

This bill wasn't chocked full of entitlements. It reduced the entitlements. It eliminates the subsidy and instead hands out tax credits but far less than the subsidies. It also caps Medicaid with block grants. In fact it cut entitlements on insurance by so much Republican Governors were whining!!!!

So long as it gets rid of the mandates on individuals and employers, I personally don't care what else it does. The only other thing I want is a repeal of McCarran-Ferguson and that bill is already written and in the hopper ready for a vote.

And I'm sure whatever the Freedom Caucus has done will be fine. From what I could tell from Meadows and Brat's statements is their concern was getting the cost of insurance premiums down, so whatever Trump came up with they were thrilled with, almost giddy!

So it sounds like it's all good. I sure hope so. Need to get r done and move on to the next thing, tax reform, fixing the trade deals.

You're wrong about the entitlements. I still do not believe the allowing of illegals to obtain health care through identity fraud has been addressed. That in itself is a huge entitlement. Furthermore, what is making Meadows more optimistic probably isn't something that Trump came up with, but the acceptance of some of the Freedom Caucus inputs by Trump and the White House. It is my understanding that Speaker Ryan was cut out of the loop in the meetings yesterday.

Furthermore, under the bill, illegals would receive care, counties that voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton would receive a big financial boost, and Rust Belt voters who backed Trump would see their healthcare costs increase dramatically.

These entitlement concerns are real and need to be resolved before a bill is passed.
