Oh!! On this I so totally agree.

We MIGHT have a COUPLE of little problems with our Presidential candidate-to-be. I heard just a SNIPPET last night that Hastert MIGHT go down in the Abramoff scandal. EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, I heard that, because of the scandal, there is going to be a HUGE SHAKE-UP in the House and that, not only will DeLay not be Majority Whip anymore, Hastert might be replaced as the Speaker. So, we need to do some fast research on who we want to be the new Speaker if it comes to that!! See, we MIGHT have a chance to actually CHOOSE our next President. That is, AFTER the impeachment!!!

I think the only dirt on Hastert, if it is, is a letter he wrote to the Department of the Interior asking them to block a casino for one Indian tribe because other Indian Tribes opposed it. Some of these tribes had hired Abramoff ot represent them. At some time after a fundraising luncheon organized by Abramoff, Hastert wrote this letter. If did not concern legislation and we don't know yet if the Department of the Interior gave it any bearing. There may have been legitimate reasons for blocking it...too many casinos in one area....can cause the failure of all for example. Haven't been able to find the letter posted anywhere or the outcome. It's the kind of thing that's done every day; did not affect legislation; and the decision was the Department of the Interior who may listen to input but has a procedure to follow. It would shed no more bad light on Hastert than it would on the Bush Administration if the DOI succombed to the request and it had no legitimate foundation.

I know for a fact we do not want Blount who would be the next most popular guy. Besides looking like a squirrel, he is a GLOBALIST hook line and sinker. He is owned by the US Chamber of Commerce who promised them at a lunceion on CAFTA that he "would pull a rabbit out of his hat" and promised they would get their CAFTA. And of course he did. He is also the one who said "we will twist arms until they break".

We know this one. He is from Springfield, Missouri. He is a nothing. How he has risen to this position in Congress is unfathomable. Worse, his son is Governor of the state of Missouri now.

Another dynasty being born as we speak.

No one is going to be perfect. We need just a regular normal guy. Hastert is the best there is unless we could somehow get Tom Tancredo to Speaker then BTTT!!

Yeah--it DID have something to do with a fundraiser. I remember that now. I think the more LIKELY problem is an upheaval in the House where Hastert gets replaced and you are RIGHT. BLOUNT would be a DISASTER. He's lobbying (poor choice of words!!) for DeLay's position but, naturally, IF Hastert's position became available, he would probably be after that. I AGREE. I LIKE HASTERT. He looks like our best bet so we need to get that impeachment on track NOW before they dump HASTERT and we have to take ANOTHER IDIOT for PRESIDUNCE.

RIGHT ON!! As they say, Time if of the Essence. While the Democrats are with US on impeachment over the war, they will be less with us on the immigration issue. For some inexplicable reason, imigration has been some fantasy of theirs.

Hopefully, their grassroots will start speaking up loud and clear and let their leadership know that "day in the sun" is over.

YEP. We have to depend on the war in Iraq, the NSA spying, the DISHONESTY in the White House and issues like that to base the impeachment on. Frankly, we don't GIVE A DAMN WHAT they impeach him for. Whatever they come up with will be OUR CAUSE!!

Both Hastert and Blount voted for CAFTA. I think once the wackident is impeached, both will get better. Is it any coincidence that the GOP got corrupted once Bush took office?

dman, the GOP is no longer recognizable as the GOP...they've had to twist and dodge in order to support this president.

It's time to end partisan politics and get down to the business of saving our country. Divided we fall.
