    Vicky,

I must say you do have one fact right, the only folks that benefit from H1b's are the corporations that milk them, and of course the visa holders themselves.

For the rest of your posts I'll just say this...

Your IP should be in Bangalore, not the US, and you should cart yourself back there soonest, before you wind up in the middle of something that is bigger than ALL of us.

The continual raping of the American middle class by the very corporations that have been FUNDED by that middle class is going to create a backlash on a scale not seen in 230 years.

You can make up statistics as much as you want.
No, I do not make up statistics. I cited several studies to support my statements. You have not provided anything to back up what you say.

MYTH1: H1-B Displace US workers. Companies fire US Citizens and hire H1-B workers

    http://link.toolbot.com/dice.com/58799
"Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer."
    (Read that as No H1-Bs")
    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/eng/258263767.html
"West Valley-Mission Community College District will not sponsor any visa applications."

MYTH2: H1-B drive down salaries as they are paid lower than current scale
    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/sof/271311207.html
    "COMPENSATION:
Attractive compensation $100K+ Base (depending on experience), Bonus and Stock Options. Travel will be required, as necessary "

All my friends started with 90K after graduating from MIT.They are now earning 120K irrespective of visa.

MYTH3: There is no shortage of experienced native born US scientists professional
True, because people who earlier came on H1-B/F-1 are now naturalized citizen who are providing this pool of scientific community

I am glad that none of you guys are in Computers or hi-tech!!.

And thank goodness!. US Corporations have more sense than average americans.US would have soon lost its competitive advantage were it not for its immigration program.
Best thing you can do is to ask your kids to take up science and Maths. This is future of world economy.
You provide links to a couple job advertisements to prove what point?

I am in a high tech area and can say that most high and mid-level people in my discipline are US born citizens, not naturalized former H1Bs. In my area, it is commonly known that H1Bs can be gotten for less $.

Only thing US wants is $'s and jobs. Which it manages by this H1-B program. If short term contractors are using this H1-B program, then people having W-2 should have special edge. Each contractor on H1-b greatest desire is to have a Green Card or Citizenship so that they can have their own billing and not pay middlemen. Irony? Isn't it? Why will H1-B want to give up their "premium status" and become like any other American?

I certainly believe that it's time that we begin to end the practice of giving foreign students our American kids higher education seats, wouldn't you all agree?

Our American kids deserve and their parents have certainly earned the right to every college seat available.

This farce with American engineers has been perpetrated over the past 3 decades. However, the average American is now waking up and seeing the truth.

    Ain't that sweet!

We both know that this is hogwash

That would go back directly to the available college seats for American students.

Who are you trying to kid here

(the only thing us wants is $ and jobs) yes, we expect it , this is what keeps us from becomming a 3rd world country!! Americans First, we expect this from our government.

I'm sure people on H1B desire a green card, as far as citizenship goes we the people of the United States value their citizenship, if some one wants it just so they can come here to make money, they do not deserve it, and we don't want them. Here lies the problem we have right now,We want citizens whose first loyalty is to our country, we want them to take pride in our constitution, bill of rights, political views, know who the great hero's of our country are, our history and respect our flag and language, respect our laws and come to this country legally.

We are not an old country, but be have accomplished alot in this short time
we are not 10,000 years old, we do not have 1 billion citizens and we do not want one 1 billion citizens,we expect our politians to get control of our immigration so we do not destroy the infrastructor of our states and towns we live in. We respect our quality of life and intend on keeping it.

It is time are seats in our colleges go to American students, guess that will have to be our next project, once we get congress staightened out about the H1B programs and illegal immigration.

It also sounds to me like you would not be a good canidate for United States citizenship, but lucky for you, you have a high regard for china and its 10,000 year old history, so you should be perfectly happy there.

You see UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL, when it counts Americans look out for each other, probably a concept someone from china doesn't understand!! because it is the American way!!!

OH, AND YOU CAN THANK AMERICAN TAXPAYERS FOR YOUR SAFE TRIP HOME!!!!!!

Blah Blah Criticism. Dumping on Americans. In ten thousand years this continent has produced pretzel sex and inedible cows. Where do they need to go to work? A two hundred year old country.

Yes, and much of what Vicky said isn't even true. Genetic analysis shows that the older ethnic groups, i.e. Dravidians, get their darkness from an African heritage. Up north, there were invasions by Persian-type lighter people. The Parsees are Zorastrian immigrants from what is now Iran. And, like the US, India has tribal groups that were pushed to marginal areas by the dominant culture. The US certainly did not kill off all the American Indians. I've worked with Native Americans who were highly educated - educators, IT people, etc. One in particular I remember was a gifted AS400 programmer with a Master's in mathmatics and a Navajo from the Rez. She's probably out of work now too, thanks to India, Inc..
