What "lawfulness" are we talking about? These folks are illegal aliens. They entered our country illegally, they undercut Americans for jobs illegally, they get public assistance illegally, etc., etc.

Granting amnesty to them will only open the flood gates even wider. We already have more than 45 million Americans receiving food stamps. Let's not make it impossible for even more Americans to put food on the table.

IMO Republicans would be wise to revise our immigration law one step at a time. The first step should be to implement Universal E-Verify. That will eliminate the jobs magnet which is responsible to most of the illegal aliens who sneak into the United States. Once Americans can see that Congress is actually implementing an immigration statue that protects American interests, it should be relatively easy to make additional changes.
