As someone who lived only 5 miles from Herndon, Va. for 20 years, I applaud the effort of the minute men What part of illegal do you not understand NosoyIlleagl? I watched my community turn from a nice diverse community of working class families into little El Salvador. I lived between two townhouses, one with 15 hispanics and an MS-13 gang member and another one with 20 unrelated hispanics. I truly enjoyed being blasted by Latina music at two a.m. on numerious occasions, broken Corna bottles on the sidewalk and parking lots, human waste in the common area and people pissing on my tires. I also really enjoyed having groups of men whistle and make rude comments in Spanish at me as I tried to go about by daily life The number of violent crimes commited by illegals sky rocketed including rape and assult. Everytime there was a rape 9 times of out ten the last name was hispanic. Last by not least, I really enjoyed watchingmy daughter's school rise to 43% hispanic in just 3 years. I love paying higher taxes to educate illegals children while my own child's education suffered. How did I deal with it? I moved 238 miles away to a suburb of Pittsburgh, where people speak English and work hard as constrction workers, truck drivers, maids, waitress and such. I guess someone forgot to tell them these are jobs they don't want

The Brown Berets are RACISTS. When they say "our people" they mean brown people. Martin Luther King? Give me a break. Most of the Brown Berets do not like black Americans either.

Ceasar Chavez? He hated illegal immigration. Correct me if I'm wrong but he fought hard to keep illegal aliens out since they lowered wages.

We have the videos of your big Brown Berets at Baldwin Park.

Socialist and Communis? Yes, many of them are handing out literature at these rallies like the one pictured above asking people to enjoin the communist and socialist poltiical movements.

Many of the other protestors are avowed anarchists that make a life out of protesting.

    These are FACTS.

"The Brown Berets are RACISTS. When they say "our people" they mean brown people."

No, when we say our people we mean all disenfranchised, poor, marginalized, oppressed, indigent, colored, vilified, homeless, politically imprisoned, indigenous people. Racism is dependent on power, Latinos (outside of those that promote the right-wing agenda) have very little power.

"Martin Luther King? Give me a break. Most of the Brown Berets do not like black Americans either.'

Actually, we have worked together with organizations such as ACLU, Ella Baker Center, the Black Student Union, the Rainbow Coalition, Brothers Teaching Brothers and many others (take a look at our link’s page on our website). Recently, two of our members went to New Orleans to help the citizens of that devastated area. We have also organized with various Puerto Rican and Haitian organizations. All this in efforts to ameliorate not only the Latino community but also all oppressed communities.

"Ceasar Chavez? He hated illegal immigration. Correct me if I'm wrong but he fought hard to keep illegal aliens out since they lowered wages."

No, you are right about that, but Chavez soon changed his postion while working with the UFW. He realized humanity, being treated with dignity, was greater than wages.

"We have the videos of your big Brown Berets at Baldwin Park."

Good, we have pictures of minutemen beating humans in Arizona.

"Socialist and Communis? Yes, many of them are handing out literature at these rallies like the one pictured above asking people to enjoin the communist and socialist poltiical movements."

We are not socialist, communist, anarchist, or any ism you wish to invent. We are community activist who believe in social jutice and that all people should be treated with dignity.

    "These are FACTS."

Says who, you? Give me a brake. Educate yourself outside of your privileged perspective.

Atzlan Nazi propaganda. Call ducks just that, ducks. You mean brown, we can read between the lines.

    Socialist parasites, secular progressive pukes.

Where? Your banter is useless. You don't that is why you don't link to it.

Unlike you, we do have pictures.

    Student enjoys ‘being a leader’
    BY AMANDA SCHOENBERG

Whether organizing the annual Peace and Unity March in Watsonville or protesting the California High School Exit Exam in Sacramento, Magdalena “Magge Rodriguez is usually part of the action.
Rodriguez, a sophomore at Watsonville High School, received two honors this week for her leadership. She was one of 10 winners given a $5,000 college scholarship in the National Lideres de Hoy Essay Contest, sponsored by the National Council of La Raza and Allstate Insurance.
Rodriguez will be recognized at an awards dinner in Washington, D.C., in September for her essay “Being a leader of today for a better tomorrow.
She was also a winner of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Young Leader of Today Recognition Award and will be highlighted on its Web site at www.chci.org/chciyouth/interact/submit.htm.
The award honors young people 13-18 with high academic achievement and public service, said Julio Cortez, program coordinator for Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. The committee was “very impressed with Rodriguez, Cortez added.
In her essay, Rodriguez described her work to support the Williams v. State of California lawsuit to provide basic needs in the state’s poorest schools and her efforts to name a local school in honor of Cesar Chavez.
Rodriguez was chosen to speak in Sacramento to protest the Williams case when she was in the seventh grade.
“Oh, my God. I still remember the nerves I had, Rodriguez said. “I was just like, ‘Cesar Chavez had to get through a lot more than this.’
Rodriguez credited the development of her leadership skills to her involvement in the Watsonville Brown Berets. She joined the group when she was in the sixth grade, following the lead of her older sister Inez.
California Rural Legal Assistance attorney Luis Alejo, Rodriguez’s advisor, encouraged her to apply for both honors.
“I think it’s wonderful that these national organizations are recognizing the youth of Watsonville, Alejo said. “She makes not only her family, but her community very proud.
Rodriguez’s mother works at a day care center, while her dad works in a nursery. Both were born in Mexico, where the family visits about every five years, she said.
Rodriguez said her parents “were so excited (about the honors). My mom was jumping up and down. Even my brother started jumping.
Rodriguez hopes to become a lawyer and dreams of attending Harvard University after graduating from Watsonville High School, she said.
She was moved to study law after reading about lawyer Maurice “Moâ€? Jourdane, who fought to outlaw use of “el cortitoâ€? â€â€

Answer the SIMPLE questions. Quit your ballerina dancing routine and answer the questions. The fact is you can't. That is one thing that is sooooo great about you far right people, no answers, just a bunch of fingers being pointed, and if there is an answer it is so ridiculous it couldn’t fly even if it was in a plane! That is all you can say to me, "Grow up". Well put me in the box you think I belong in, treat me like an animal, gerrarrr baby. Just do it. I will follow you post to post asking the same things, but I know you will not answer them; you will dance around them and change the subject.
