Nelson-vote YES for CLOTURE
Nelson Against Current Immigration Bill
Would vote against it
http://www.wowt.com/news/headlines/7600652.html
U-S Senator Ben Nelson says the current attempt to overhaul U-S immigration policy in the Senate deals with problems out of order.
Nelson says Congress should secure the border and fix legal immigration first, then deal with the estimated 12 million people already in the country illegally.
Nelson says he would vote against the comprehensive bill in its current form.
He says when the word "amnesty" reaches people south of the border, more will try to cross it and the United States should be prepared with tighter border controls.
Nelson says speeding up the legal immigration process will help reduce the number of illegal immigrants who come to the country legally but overstay their visas.
Nelson says he will vote to bring the bill to the floor so senators can discuss it.

You can be assured they have shouted the word amnesty from one end of Mexico and South America to the other and everyone is packed and waiting for the bus north.......and Michael Chertoff is standing at the border with his pants down.<div>Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of congress; but I repeat myself. that means a YES VOTE FOR CLOTURENelson says he will vote to bring the bill to the floor so senators can discuss it.
If a CLOTURE vote is YES by 60, the bill COMES TO THE FLOOR.
If Cloture is NO, the bill does NOT come to the floor.
Sure hope you're telling those you've been calling-- to VOTE NO on Cloture!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

05-20-2007, 11:06 PM #10That is best for us, but you can count on 5-10 of these Senators having cut deals behind closed doors where they will vote YES on Cloture, NO on the bill, and the US Chamber is fine with that because the deal was struck.
