Obama on small-town PA: Clinging to religion, guns, xenophobia
Huffpo's Mayhill Fowler has more from Obama's remarks at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday, and they include an attempt to explain the resentment in small-town Pennsylvania that won't be appreciated by some of the people whose votes Obama's seeking:
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
That's a pretty broad list of things to explain with job loss.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

He's going to piss off a lot of people by saying such things.
This is the hot news of the day today. Feature story on Dobbs, and making the rounds in most other places as well.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

What can we expect from a man whose idol is a racist pastor? I doubt Obama has even BEEN to a small town in PA, haha. Hope he's not waiting for the votes, since most of PA is "small towns".

I am listening to this RIGHT now on Lou Dobbs. Hilary is jumping on this, turning this sow ear into a silk purse. Saying we don't need a president that looks down on them.
Pundits are saying Americans will find it condescending, insulting... Yep.
How does he really feel about Americans?!
pledge, typical white person, looking down on the average small town American who care about their country...
Enough!! How he equates these issues with bitterness...Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Roland Martin is on Lou Dobbs defending Obama. Martin says Obama told the truth. He says Obama should not apologize for his comments. I hope Obama pays dearly for his comments.

Typical, elitist (& simplistic) statement & mindset. It's painfully obvious that Obama is a media creation, who is not near ready for prime time. I only hope that he is not able to hide his extreme leftist record and viewpoints for much longer.
