Thread: Rape, kidnap charges for illegal immigrant

Monroe County deputies on Saturday morning captured an illegal alien accused of kidnapping and raping his 15-year-old girlfriend, and stabbing several of her family members when he took her by force. The girl was found with her fugitive boyfriend on Rivoli Road just inside Bibb County and returned to her family.

“I feel like we saved her life,” said sheriff Al Shackelford. “I’m very proud of everybody. I can’t say enough about the cooperation between agencies — it was key to capturing him. When we call, they come.”

Shackelford said the 15-year-old girl’s family had told the boyfriend, 20-year-old Adrian Garcia Zamorron of Newnan, that he could no longer see the girl, with whom he has a child.

“He just went off the deep end,” said Shackelford.

Zamorron, 20, went to her home on Friday night and stabbed four family members before taking her by force, said Shackelford. Here’s what happened next, according to Shackelford: Zamorron put the girl in a white BMW and wound up on I-75 south in Monroe County when he ran out of gas near the I-475 split around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. Meanwhile, Coweta County authorities had put out a BOLO for Zamorron and his victim in the white BMW.

A deputy on his way home from work saw the abandoned car matching the BOLO around 6:45 a.m., and called for help.

Deputy Chad Beck noted a good bit of blood on the doors and center console in the abandoned car and called in a Georgia State Patrol helicopter to aid the search for the fugitive and his victim. The victim’s family helped deputies ping a cell phone to help them locate the couple on Rivoli Road as Bibb County deputies joined the search.

Finally, someone spotted the pair on Rivoli Road just inside the Bibb County line around 10:15 a.m. Deputies Gregg Phillips, John Thompson and Nicholas Ortiz approached them in an unmarked car and arrested the suspect without incident. Zamarron was taken to the Bolingbroke fire station for medical attention due to cuts on his legs and fingers. Deputies seized two knives on Zamarron that had blood on them.

The victim told deputies that Zamarron had taken her to a large home under construction on Rivoli Road and raped her for a second time that morning.

Zamarron was taken to the Bibb County Jail on aggravated assault, kidnapping and other charges. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has put a hold on Zamarron because he’s in the country illegally, and he remains in the Bibb County Jail.
