Well I will leave my opinion to myself until I learn more on the work verification and Paul, right now I have taken in so much information on all of these canidates I might just speak out of turn....has been a very busy week, and my brain has been over whelmed with information.

If he is for putting the military on the border fine, personally I don't care how they secure the border as long as it gets secured.

I don't think it matters how the border is secured as long as it is. A fence isn't much good, either unless it's manned and watched.

And as far as the Iraq War goes, here's how the troops feel about Ron Paul. He gets more donations from the military than any other candidate.

Hunter's plan has it routinely patrolled. That is why there is an all weather high speed road between the two layers.

His voting records clearly indicates that he has been against placing the military on the border in the past. He has voted against amendments that would have done so 7 times since 1999.

Well "MW" 1999 was a long time ago and circumstances have certainly changed, I have heard him say we could bring our troops home and use them to secure the border...That is one thing I am sure of. anyone who has not made changes in their opinion since 1999 especially after 9/11 is , well I don't know what to say about them.

Ron Paul has said that he would put more border patrol on the border, and bring our troops home to protect this country internally.

And I wouldn't dismiss Paul's presence in the New Hampshire Primary.
Eleanor Clift, conventional wisdom on the hoof, said on The McLaughlin Group that 'Ron Paul with his antiwar libertarian message will be the story coming out of New Hampshire for the Republicans.'"

I didn't say he voted against sending the military to the border 7 times in 1999. I said he has voted against sending them 7 times since 1999 - big difference.

I've made no secrets about the fact that I place more validity in what a person shows through physical action vice campaign rhetoric.

To my knowledge, Paul does not support the mandatory enrollment of employers into the so-called work verification program. Honestly, I'm not aware of anything he has actually supported that would hold employers personally responsible for hiring illegal labor

How's that employee verification program working for us? So far - not so good. Maybe he saw it for what it was - a smokescreen.

We don't need a whole host of new laws - just enforce the ones we have.
Our government knows and has known for a very long time many employees who are using fraudulent documents - why do they need some new law to do something about it?

Why do they need some complicated new program? We have the data on file - it only takes a matter of seconds to pull up someone's records.

I fear the 'employee verification' was just a way to allow employers to say they didn't 'knowingly' hire illegals - when a simple look by the government at the records on file would be definitive.

I feel the same way about the fence - possibly a good idea if designed, built and executed by the right people. Unless that changes, it is just an expensive joke.

Congress is very good at saying something is 'complex' and can't enforce the laws governing it - yet they manage to convince the people that all that is needed is more laws - which they know they have no intention of enforcing.

Before condemning Paul for not voting for these laws - ask why these same ones are not demanding our present laws be enforced before the put some new ones on the books.

We already have a bill signed into law that will place more border patrol on the border. Furthermore, isn't the words "place more border patrol on the border" a little vague? Is he going to exceed the 20 something thousand that are already authorized? How many would he place on the border. Also, remember this, without a bill from Congress, the President can't put more border patrol on the border. He is limited to what Congress will authorize. As for our military troops protecting this country internally - can you direct me to a source that says he will specifically send our active duty military forces to the border to halt illegal immigrants, terrorist, and smugglers?

The program is not currently mandatory for employers, except in Arizona. Of course it won't work if not everyone is required to participate.
