State Police Say Woman Had Drugs While Crossing Border

A Hogansburg woman is accused of crossing the border from Canada with drugs in her possession.


State police say U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers found 27 year old Devon Oakes in possession of a quantity of morphine, cocaine, and suboxone strips when they stopped her at the border near Massena on Saturday.


Oakes was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of having prescription medication outside the original container.


She was issued tickets to appear in Massena town court at a later date.

That would be for one of the moderators to decide. I was just making it clear that the individual could have been legally crossing the border as a U.S. citizen.
