These were not bad projects at all! They were hard to do for the students but the truth of the matter is that the all completed these projects just as the students who had this previously. Profe is one of the nicest and most sweetest teachers in the school and she only does what she dows to help us learn. Most are over reacting and if you want the real story and not this (MOD EDIT) you're thinking to make you believe this is a horrible teen changing event, then go to google and type in "olentangy liberty high school illegal immigration project" and click the first thing that's from the Columbus Dispatch where the story was said and not turned into a stupid, critizing idea. And by the way, if you don't know Profe Vierya, (MOD EDIT) if you say she should be fired. This overduing of this project is causing most to lose track of grades as well, all Spanish V students aren't allowed to speak about this mess. Just stop the back talk of your ignorance and think, it's just a project in a small community that doesn't really effect everyone and it's been done for years.

And by the way, some students now don't watch the news or read about it because of this (MOD EDIT) happy with your over reacting and ruining the lives of a bunch of students by your stupid comments. So to all above who critize, thank you for destroying our education and some of the happiness in our lives. (MOD EDIT)
    Doesn't this speak volumes...
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

Oh boo hoo, put your big girl panties on and get over yourself. If this "wonderful" teacher is producing students like you, then she has failed miserably.

This is Stephanie again and just to tell you guys

    1. Everyone cusses at one point in life
    2. We are a wonderful school
and 3. Instead of making this seem like a bad thing, we should be using this in the government because it's shows the flaws in our system and how people can get through easily

Do you guys even know what empathy means? and she isn't producing us, there are more teachers than her you should know.
    She's showing us humanism.

Btw...this blog didn't even talk to her personally. Maybe you should ask her what her point was instead sending hate mail and being ignorant commentors and making fun of a student for knowing the situation.

You really have no Idea what taxes are do you... They have not taught you how much taxes they take out of our pockets every single year to pay for this teachers conduct as well as the schools budget. This is not education this is basically robbery under the guise of education.

No... this teacher needs to be fired as well as every administrator that aproved this (POI) Period of Instruction. This is Fraud, Waste and Abuse of Tax Payers funds.

This is another life lesson "Be accountable for your actions"

Humanism, the United States takes more legal immigrants than
any country in the world, and it also helps other countries at the
    same time.

What Illegals do regardless of their quality as a person (good or
bad) is abusing the system, they want freedom without
responsability, they have been rewarded for years with jobs and
benefits that they would not have been able to receive anywhere.

    Enough is enough.

    Students struggle

Does the teacher also tell the students it is illegal to use false documents and what happens when they get caught. Does she tell them their families could be separated by deportation?
Coming here illegally has been the easiest way for too long. American citizens are trying hard to change that.

    Stephanie-
I agree fully that Illegal immigrants are not good in America but instead of scolding a teacher for showing how illegals can come in, you should go out there and fight for illegals to stay out, using these projects to make less holes in the legal process.

And I do go to school thus knowing what taxes are, this is not robbery to anyone who actually attends the school or the parents who are smart. Only the parents and people who don't understand that this will benefit america when our generation is in office and congress, etc. as we will know where to fix things to where even less illegals get into our country.

and AirborneSapper7, do you even live in the Olentangy District? If not, the taxes don't really affect you and if you do live here, then talk to Profe Vierya herself, ask her why she did the project and the benefits of it.

As well, the documents weren't really false as they were actual papers just in spanish and weren't really even used anyways. We students often talk about Illegal Immigration and the problems in society, maybe even more than some of you. We spend whole weeks debating on issues such as gay marrage and slavery as well as liberal vs. conservative view points.

All who I know in the school (which is basically 99%) agree that Illegal immigration is bad in our country and that if you don't get in legally, then try to get in legally again, and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work.

The reason that kids and teens have low self-confidence and are more stuck up to adults and those who are non-understanding of situations is because they treat us as if we know nothing when we very much could possibly know more than the ones who put us down. And in this situation, I do know more on the situation and if you don't know Profe Vierya personally, or live in the Olentangy district, then you can't possibly say for her to be fired, or argue that this is horrible when it really doesn't affect you.

Let me ask you kittynaomi.....do you realize that it is you and your classmates.....the future adults in this country.....who will be paying the price for what millions of IAs have done toward destroying our country, our economy, our society?

Do you realize that when you are ready to enter the workforce, there may be no jobs for you if this continues? That you will be the poverty stricken outsider within your own country while people with no right to be here are enjoying the life you should be enjoying because it was your parents, grandparents, etc. who worked their butts off to achieve that for you?

Did this teacher of yours bother explaining any of this to you while teaching you all about 'empathy" and "humanism'?
