Actually, I might have spoken too soon. I think we had this discussion before. From what I remember, the military isn't allowed to apprehend illegal aliens, only ICE is allowed to do so, from what I remember. So more ICE agents would still be needed. And also more, many more, judges to hurry up and try these cases and send them packing back home.

Not only that, but the military would be temporarily on the border. ICE agents would be there permanently.

Our military is defending borders ALL over the world AND we give them billions of dollars in foreign aid.

It we can defend THEIR border...they why can't THEY defend ours!

We give Israel FIVE BILLION a year to defend their border. Now why can't Israel send some troops and get on our border!

The Posse Comitadus (Wikipedia):

The purpose of the act – in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807 – is to limit the powers of the federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States.

"Domesitic policies" not border enforcement!

The act does not apply to the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor.

The title of the act comes from the legal concept of posse comitatus, the authority under which a county sheriff, or other law officer, conscripts any able-bodied man to assist her or him in keeping the peace.

The military would not be operating under the authority of a sheriff or governor. They would be operating under the authority of the President Of The United States! So they are not limited by the Posse Comitatus.

If we have a wall of armed military on the border, virtually no drugs or people would make here to require court action.

It is the PC attitude that views the Posse Comitatus applying to more than it does. While this is a temporary solution, it gives time to build a wall. The Democrats would have the choice of keeping troops on the border, or financing the wall so that Border Patrol could secure the border without the manpower to create a human wall.

Maybe instead of giving the government money, we get them to give us areas of land where we finance Americanized communities in their country. Properly managed, they might lead the rest of the country to adopt more civil ways of life, in their country.

We can't force any country to change, but we might lead them to change!
