Trump allegedly had illegal immigrants clean his underwear, trophies

Two women, who are illegal immigrants, claim they were subject to abuse and threats while working at President Trump’s exclusive golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey — and they want authorities to investigate the allegations.

The domestic employees, one who still works at the club, said they served directly for the Trump family and were repeatedly harassed by their superiors due to their immigration status, according to their lawyer.

“While working at Donald Trump’s estate in Bedminster and interacting with the President and his immediate family, my clients and others were repeatedly subjected to abuse, called racial epithets and threatened with deportation,” immigration lawyer Anibal Romero said in a statement.

“Ironically, the threats often came from the same supervisor who had employed them despite knowing their undocumented status and even provided them with forged documents.”

The New York Times identified the women as Victorina Morales, who came to the US illegally in 1999, and Sandra Diaz, a native of Costa Rica who was undocumented when she worked there between 2010 and 2013.

Morales, who expects to be fired from her job, said that she has cleaned President Trump’s golf trophies and underwear. She claims that the staff routinely mocked her nationality despite knowingly hiring her as undocumented.

“We are tired of the abuse, the insults, the way he talks about us when he knows that we are here helping him make money,” she told The Times. “We sweat it out to attend to his every need and have to put up with his humiliation.”

The women claimed that there were many other undocumented immigrants working at the Bedminster club.

Romero, the women’s lawyer, said that the abusive behavior needs to be addressed by law enforcement.

“This toxic environment was designed to intimidate these women, leaving them fearful for their safety and the safety of their families,” Romero said.

“Many of the abuses to which my clients were subjected constitute crimes. We call upon New Jersey’s law enforcement community and federal authorities to investigate these allegations immediately.”

The Trump Organization did not comment on Thursday about the undocumented workers.

So she had personal contact with Trump himself? I seriously doubt it.

    Trump verbally abused her?

Does Trump look at the Resumes and documents of the thousands of employees that work at his businesses?

Did Trump personally interview her and hire her?

Laundry is part of their job description...I would think underwear, socks, t-shirts, all of it is considered laundry.

ICE SHOULD INVESTIGATE HER AND HER ENTIRE ILLEGAL FAMILY

PUT HER IN JAIL FOR IDENTITY THEFT AND DEPORT THE REST

THESE ILLEGALS ARE CAUSING A "TOXIC" ENVIRONMENT IN OUR COUNTRY BY THEIR LAWLESSNESS, STEALING IDENTIES, THEIR CRIME, WORKING WHILE HERE ILLEGALLY WITH FAKE PAPERS!

IF SHE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE "STAFF" THEN SHE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO HUMAN RESOURCES.

SORRY CRIMINAL...NO LAW SUIT, NO MONEY, GO HOME!
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

Lawyer alleges Trump golf club hired undocumented immigrants, calls for investigation

    Monsy Alvarado, North Jersey RecordPublished 6:27 p.m. ET Dec. 6, 2018 | Updated 7:31 a.m. ET Dec. 7, 2018

WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – A New Jersey attorney on Thursday called on state and federal officials to investigate the Trump National Golf Clubin Bedminster, alleging that undocumented employees there were subject to abuse because of their immigration status.

The attorney, Anibal Romero of Union City, issued the call after the New York Times published a story in which two women he represents said they were hired as housekeepers at the resort after presenting bogus Social Security numbers and green cards.

President Donald Trump has made curbing illegal immigration one of his top priorities.
"While working at Donald Trump’s estate in Bedminster and interacting with the President and his immediate family, my clients and others were repeatedly subjected to abuse, called racial epithets and threatened with deportation,'' Romero said in a statement Thursday. "Ironically, the threats often came from the same supervisor who had employed them despite knowing their undocumented status and even provided them with forged documents."

A spokesman for state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal declined to comment Thursday afternoon. Grewal has challenged several of Trump's immigration policies and last week unveiled a new state directive ordering local law enforcement to limit their cooperation with federal immigration officers.

A call to the Trump National Golf Club's marketing office was not immediately returned Thursday afternoon. Neither was an email to Amanda Miller, senior vice president for marketing and corporate communications for the Trump Organization, which owns the golf course.

Miller told the Times that the Trump Organization has tens of thousands of employees across its properties, and that the company has very strict hiring practices.

“If an employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately,'' Miller told the newspaper.

Romero represents Victorina Morales, 45, an undocumented woman from Guatemala who was hired at the golf resort in 2013, and Sandra Diaz, a native of Costa Rica who is now a legal U.S. resident but who was undocumented when she worked at the golf club from 2010 to 2013. The women said they were among a group of housekeeping, maintenance and landscaping employees at the golf club that included a number of workers without legal status, according to the Times.

"These women have shown tremendous bravery in bringing forth their allegations against such a powerful family,'' Romero said in his statement. "Many of the abuses to which my clients were subjected constitute crimes."

Morales crossed the border in California illegally in 1999 and, soon after, a contact provided with her a phony Social Security number and an identification card that she was told she could use to gain employment. She later flew to New Jersey to join her husband, who had arrived a few months earlier.

In 2013, Morales was told by a friend that the resort was looking to hire housekeepers for $10 an hour, so she applied since it would have been more than the $8.25 she was being paid to clean rooms at a hotel.

After she demonstrated her cleaning skills to the housekeeping supervisor, Morales was told to report to work the next morning, she told the Times. Morales said that she told the supervisor that she had no legal working documents and that the supervisor told her to bring the same documents she had used to secure the hotel job.

Employers are required to examine identity and work documents as part of the hiring process. Some employers use E-verify, a federal database that allows American businesses to determine a prospective employee's immigration status. New Jersey is not among the 22 states that require employers to use E-verify.

When he was campaigning for the presidency, Trump said publicly that his company used E-Verify to vet applicants seeking work at the Trump International Hotel in Washington.

Morales said her duties at Trump National included washing and ironing Trump's clothing as well as his wife's and youngest son. A few times, she said, Trump tipped her $50 or $100 for her work.
After Trump launched his presidential campaign, a manager told Morales that she could no longer work inside Trump's house, she told the Times. Other undocumented employees also had their work hours reduced, leading many to become afraid and leave, she told the newspaper.

Months later, she was told by a manager that she needed to get a new green card and new Social Security card because there were "problems with her current one,'' she told the Times.

Morales said she borrowed $165 from a manager at the resort to pay for a new bogus Social Security number and phony green card to replace the ones she had initially submitted for the position.

After Trump was elected president, she said, the housekeeping supervisor remarked on employees' legal statuses when critiquing their work, and at times called them “stupid illegal immigrants” with less intelligence than a dog, according to the Times.

Morales told the Times that she has been hurt by the president's public statements against immigrants. She said she came forward because she had been subjected to abusive comments from her supervisor about her intelligence and her unlawful immigration status. Morales, who has applied for asylum, is exploring a lawsuit claiming workplace abuse and discrimination, The Times reported.

Trump business empire shuns E-Verify, hires illegal immigrants

By Stephen Dinan and S.A. Miller - The Washington Times - Thursday, December 6, 2018

Just five of the 565 companies in President Trump’s business empire are signed up to use E-Verify, the government’s best tool to weed illegal immigrants out of the workforce, according to a Washington Times analysis that suggests the president could personally be doing more on that front.

Mr. Trump’s golf courses in Charlotte, Los Angeles and Miami, his hotel in Washington, D.C., and a hotel he operated in New York are signed up.

But his marquee Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida is not signed up, nor are his golf courses in Virginia, Philadelphia or Bedminster, New Jersey — where, The New York Times reported Thursday, some illegal immigrants have been working for years.

One of them, Victorina Morales, a Guatemalan woman who jumped the border in 1999, has been at the TrumpNational Golf Club in Bedminster for more than five years, making Mr. Trump’s bed, cleaning his toilet and dusting his golf trophies, the newspaper reported.

“I never imagined, as an immigrant from the countryside in Guatemala, that I would see such important people close up,” she said, in Spanish — though she also complained to the paper about Mr. Trump’s “abuse, the insults, the way he talks about us when he knows that we are here helping him make money.”

Ms. Morales did fill out some immigration-related employment documents for the Trump golf club, but those were likely I-9 forms, which illegal immigrants regularly fill out using fake identities and Social Security numbers — and are rarely caught.

The newspaper said she bought counterfeit documents in New Jersey that she gave to the golf club, though she said her employers appeared to know her illegal status, particularly after they changed her duties once Mr. Trump started running for president.
Experts said Mr. Trump’s companies could have avoided the embarrassment if they’d signed up for E-Verify, the federal government’s online portal that does a thorough check of new hires, querying Social Security and Homeland Security information to make sure someone is eligible for work.

“Any person who runs for any elected office should immediately sign up for E-Verify for any employee situation they have, whether they’re running their own businesses, whether they’re hiring labor at home, whatever it is, just as a matter of pure common sense,” said Rosemary Jenks, government relations manager for NumbersUSA, which has long called for E-Verify to be made mandatory for all businesses.

That’s also a position Mr. Trump took on the campaign trail — making his own companies’ lack of use all the more striking.

The White House declined to comment on whether Mr. Trump still supports E-Verify, instead directing questions to the Trump Organization, the umbrella group for the 565 companies he listed as having a stake in on his May 2018 financial disclosure.
“We have tens of thousands of employees across our properties and have very strict hiring practices. If any employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately,” a Trump Organization spokesperson said in a statement.

The organization did not address questions about why so few of its companies use E-Verify.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the federal agency that runs E-Verify, publishes a list of every company signed up. There are more than 560,000 listed nationwide.

Among them are Trump properties OPO Hotel Manager LLC, Trump Miami Resorts Management LLC and VH Property Corp. There are also two separate listings for the Trump National Golf Club in Charlotte.

And there’s a listing for TrumpSOHO in New York, which appears to refer to a hotel that Mr. Trump’s business empire had a stake in running, until last year. A similar company was still listed on Mr. Trump’s financial disclosure form filed in May, though news reports say his name was taken off the hotel last year.

Including TrumpSOHO, that still means just five companies, or less than 1 percent of the president’s businesses, use E-Verify.

The Washington Times first investigated Mr. Trump’s companies’ use of E-Verify during the 2016 campaign, as part of a look at presidential candidates’ hiring practices.
None of the major presidential campaigns had signed up for E-Verify — even though some of them who were members of Congress did use the program for their congressional offices.

Hiring illegal immigrants is illegal, and can result in fines for each employee. A pattern of abuse could result in criminal prosecution.

Immigrant-rights advocates saw delicious irony over Mr. Trump, who complains about illegal immigration and promotes hiring of Americans, employing unauthorized workers.
And the advocates celebrated Ms. Morales and Sandra Diaz, another woman who worked for the president’s New Jersey golf course while an illegal immigrant, who also told her story to The New York Times.

“While Trump boasts about jobs and his hardline immigration policies, these brave women have put their own jobs and lives on the line to pursue justice for themselves and other exploited workers,” said Sandra Cordero, director of Families Belong Together.
She said the two women were “victims of crimes” perpetrated by Mr. Trump.

“After the family separation humanitarian crisis, the racist fear-mongering during the midterms, and the violent tear-gassing of children seeking asylum, it should come as no surprise that Trump executes his campaign of hate and division while profiting off the backs of undocumented and vulnerable workers,” she said.

The New York Times reported that an immigration lawyer for the two women came forward to have them tell their stories.

Ms. Morales remained on the Trump company’s payroll Thursday, the paper reported. Ms. Diaz, meanwhile, has since obtained a green card and legal work permission.

Trump had better straighten this out!

Send in ICE to do a sweep and deport them all.

If he needs to be fined...fine him or fire the employees hiring illegal aliens.

It is very clear why immigration has been ignored, put on the back burner for 2 years, why there isn't a start of a wall, or even a start of financing for a wall, why the military was sent to the border for photo ops only.

Trump saw immigration as a way to win an election, and had no intention of disrupting his gravy train.

I can't wait until next year to see what the DemoQuacks Border Security Bill will have in it. DemoQuacks claim that experts state that a wall isn't necessary to secure the border. They claim there are "other ways" to secure the border. Wonderful. We'll see what they have to offer next year. I just wonder why they didn't deploy these ideas already. I guess they were holding them close to their vests until they won the House back? Well, now they have it, so lets see their secret "ideas" on "other ways" to secure the border.
