Want to take an immigrant's job?

The United Farm Workers of America thinks it has the solution to unemployment — hire U.S. citizens and legal residents for jobs that often go to undocumented farm workers.

They will launch their "Take Our Jobs" campaign Thursday, June 24, and talk it up nationally during an appearance on the Colbert Show next month.

The UFW says the idea solves two problems — it would put Americans to work and help bolster the supply of much-needed agriculture workers.

Sounds like a nice idea on paper. However they will pay you the same rates they pay Illegals but in your case more than half goes to the Government in taxes.

If people could walk away with the NET pay equal to what illegals were making then it may be worthwhile...

Plus as a legal worker who gets a paycheck on record you will not be able to get food stamps, welfare, and so on ....to supplement the slave wages. Next we are going to hear them whine about how they cant get American workers to do the job. PAY THE WAGES AND YOU WILL GET THE WORKERS.

Yea, now the illegals won't do those jobs, since they can have "OUR" contruction, fast food, cleaning, countless others. Humm... NOW they want Americans?!

Why how nice of the La Razas to offer us their jobs. Now La Razas and La Ratas and MEChA finish what you started and get the hell out of our country. End illegal immigration and deport illegal aliens and their anchor babies and chain migrant families. Then the US economy WOULD really turn around and PAY for jobs would adjust according to a truly FREE market, not a market in which illegal slave labor is used to make Americans unemployed and take less pay.

Not a bad idea, but a better idea would be to have inmates do the jobs in the fields. I guarantee you more inmates would sign up than they have a need for. The prison could be paid for the laborers, and the laborers could be paid a nominal wage per hour. The bulk of inmates with "jobs" inside prison are paid under fifty cents an hour, and they take pride in their work. Does this sound so crazy?..

Teenagers! The illegals have taken all their jobs in fast food places and the like so let our spoiled teens learn the value of a dollar before they torture another teacher.

Actually I do know of one community that has never lost it's farming roots. I believe that in Houlton Maine the whole town, school kids and all, go to harvest the potatoes together when they are ripe.
