They are reporting much work still remains on the package.

The House still needs to bring a unified version to the floor, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will begin working with White House staff, Baucus and others to blend the Finance bill with a more liberal version passed by the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee - before bringing a final product to the Senate floor.

If passed, the legislation would then go to a conference committee to reconcile differences before heading to the president's desk.

They have 21 days before the two Gov's races (one in New Jersey and one in Virginia) that as of polling thru today show Republicans are ahead.

Harry Reid and Ms. Nancy have said they want to get the final bill passed PRIOR to the Nov 3rd Govenor races~!

If Republicans win both of those races then it might "spook" the Blue Dog Democrat's - we need to be sure that Republicans win both of those races and that NO health care bill gets up to a vote until way after these two Govenor races~!

The longer we can hold off the vote and get closer to the 2010 elections the better we have a chance to keep the bill from going thru~!

Nevada is now up to 13.4% unemployment and two Republicans are ahead of Harry Reid in his Senate race~!

Also there is the new Tea Party Express that kicks off in San Diego On Oct 25th~!

We need to put the fear of the voters in every single congressmen~! and all Dem's running for any office!

Let them write the check for the 1.4 Trillion dollars~!

why are these elected MORONS not addressing the real problem..

    THE COST..

I mean come on, aspirin at a hospital being billed at TEN DOLLARS
an x ray and five stitches being billed for 2600 DOLLARS with insurance. (eventually settled for 600 after other things were done)
i mean, how absurd can these prices be.

How about the cost for blood when it is needed..oh hey... and don't we donate the blood for free???? Blood services make a fortune as well as the hospitals....absurd doesn't cover it...criminality is more like it..between insurance, doctors and hospitals we get screwed no wonder the government wants in...

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MENENDEZ TO VOTE IN FAVOR OF HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM BILL IN FINANCE COMMITTEE

NJ Senator says moving the process forward is important, but also important to continue pursuing improvements on affordability, inclusion of public option

Menendez successfully includes slew of amendments to help expand access, lower costs, protect consumers

***Video of Menendez’s closing remarks in committee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSUqwTCd-mc***

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today will vote in favor of the Finance Committee’s health insurance reform bill. Menendez says that he still has concerns about the Finance bill on the affordability of insurance for those in the new insurance exchange and on the lack of a public insurance plan option, and he believes those need to be addressed when the bill is before the full Senate. However, he also said that enough improvements were made during the committee markup to warrant moving the process forward in order to ultimately craft and enact effective landmark health insurance reform.

During the committee markup, Menendez was able to successfully include a number of his amendments to the legislation, including stronger consumer protections, guaranteeing coverage for behavioral health treatments and a tax credit for start-up biotechnology firms on the cusp of medical innovation. He will work to protect those provisions throughout the remainder of the legislative process.

“Getting this legislation through the rigors of the Finance Committee is a watershed moment in the effort to reform the health insurance system, which has long been too expensive and too inaccessible for too many families,â€

I am also watching the outcome of those races.

I am not a fan of Dick Morris, but DickMorris.com is running some ads in "Blue Dog" states that he thinks play well. I passed his website around the net for any who want to donate. Hopefully...these ads will get some attention.

Everyone in Maine needs to form a group and protest outside that horrible woman's home and office. She broke with republicans on the TARP bill also.
