You can say the same thing about alcohol, food and .... oh yeah .... going to doctor or hospital. The difference between using marijuana and abusing alcohol, food and going to the doctor is pot won't kill you.

I honestly believe this Train has left the station and all your ole tired authoritarian prose has and will continue to be dismissed by most Americans, and in my opinion, rightly so.

Not sure of the point you're attempting to make here. are you advocating for the legalization of marijuana simply because alcohol is legal? Perhaps if I knew your position, I could better respond.

How many kids and people have some drinks at home or a party or the bar or restaurant and then say "oh, I think I'll shoot up some heroin now". Alcohol does not lead to hard drugs. Pot does.

It is the environment! Pot, coke, meth, heroin, PCP, pills...all related!

Throw the pot in the mix at a party...then out comes the other stuff. It's a fact.

How many people dump a fifth of vodka in their cheerios before they go to work? Next to none.

How many people will smoke a joint eating their cheerios before work if they legalize it? A LOT!!! No fear of getting busted anymore.

Pot won't kill you? Sure, until the guy driving the train down the tracks gets stoned and runs if off the rails.

Sure, until your co-worker in a restaurant is stoned out of his mind and drops a vat of hot oil all over himself and his co-workers.

Pot won't kill you until the semi-truck driver is stoned and kills you.

How about the pot head on the assembly line putting automobiles together.

Very small percentage of people doing shots of Tequila at 6am getting ready for work. A very LARGE percentage of people WILL smoke a joint before work if they can now get away with it.

At the workplace...1st day on the job for this guy. Pulls into parking lot...rolls window down a crack...smoke pouring out the window ON CAMERA. Security goes over and sure enough...this dude is getting high before his first day on the job. True story!!! And it ain't even legal yet! What the heck do you think is going to happen when they legalize it!

We are conditioned not to drink and drive now. We know we will get busted and it will cost a fortune. We are getting in the habit of getting a taxi, or Uber or designated driver over the years.

People that smoke pot will not do this.

Not legal age to buy it. Where are they getting it.

They are young, can't handle their liquor, peer pressure, doing what their friends are doing.

They are not mature, make bad decisions.

Group drinking and parties out of control...it's a disaster and yes, they are going to die from that situation. Matter of time.

Except now...at their drinking parties there are also some very bad, bad drugs going around these days too.

These drugs are way worse than 20 - 30 years ago what they are exposed to then.

Not necessarily. Many drink to escape their problems. Some drink to boost their confidence. These are both the result of mental deficits. And any drug that takes us away from reality can be attractive to some. And that escape becomes an addiction.

Yes, these drugs going around are illegal drugs, sold on the streets by foreign drug cartels, without any regulation of any kind. In the US we don't even sell milk without regulation but illegal dangerous drugs are everywhere. Like I said, the War on Drugs is a HUGE FAIL.

The Oregon coast had turned into a haven for"tweakers" (i.e. meth heads) but I think most of them have either died off or got priced out. That was a decade ago; there was locally produced meth, but I don;t know if some of the ingredients came over the border at that time.
