    Michael Phelps!

Phelps has won 14 Olympic gold medals and 16 total medals. He holds the record for most medals won by a man, surpassing Soviet gymnast Nikolai Andrianov, who won 15 from 1972-1980. Soviet female gymnast Larysa Latynina holds the record with 18.

Yep, Phelps made history. He won 8 gold medals in one Olympiad, breaking Mark Spitz's record. And he did it with his American TEAM. Phelps clinched the record in the last relay race, his American teammates helping him to make Olympic history.

Women's relay team picked up a silver.

The US basketball team beat up on Spain this morning.

More women's gymnastics tommorow. Go Shawn Johnson!!!

Basketball team made Australia their latest victim. They now advance to the semi-finals to play Argentina. The Argentines are a good team, with the San Antonio Spurs' star Manu Ginobili. If they win that, then it is on to the gold medal match against (probably) Spain.

This would pit Kobe Bryant against his Lakers teammate Pau Gasol for the gold. Should be interesting.

US men's volleyball team just won a tough 5 set match against Serbia. They now advance to the quarterfinals. They will be playing for a medal no matter what.
