NTSB doesn’t want a third party to examine evidence from East Palestine derailment disaster – what are they trying to hide?

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is once again working against We the People by working to prevent discovery in a class action regarding the East Palestine train derailment incident that dumped noxious chemicals like vinyl chloride and dioxins into the surrounding environment.
The government regulator, which supposedly works on behalf of the American public, is trying to stop a third party from accessing for evaluation evidence in the case. Overseen by proud homosexual "Mayor Pete," aka Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, the NTSB claims that allowing the third party to see the evidence would "impose an undue burden on the agency's investigative and financial resources."
Attorneys representing the NTSB submitted documents to U.S. Judge Benita Y. Pearson of the Northern District Court of Ohio expressing opposition to the inspection demands of the third party, a coalition of OxyVinyls LP, GATX Corp., and General American Marks Co.
Since the NTSB is currently conducting an active probe into Norfolk Southern over the Feb. 3, 2023, incident, the government agency does not want anyone else accessing the evidence, for reasons that remain unknown – though many suspect a government coverup.
(Related: The Government Accountability Project [GAP] is demanding that the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] procure records proving that Facebook censored posts about East Palestine train derailment.)
When the government works for itself, not We the People

With jury selection scheduled for March 31, 2025, the case's plaintiffs are seeking compensation for economic and emotional distress caused by the explosion and chemical release, which sent an infamous black smoke cloud into the skies that prompted local evacuations.
Since there are so many lawsuits that have been filed over the incident, most of them have been consolidated into a class action. Norfolk Southern is suing OxyVinyls LP, GATX Corp., and one other company for their involvement in creating the rail cars and chemicals that were on board, arguing that these companies must also share liability for the damages.
In their defense, these companies want to examine the crash site for themselves to come up with defending arguments, which the NTSB will not allow. The government agency allowed for a limited evidence inspection, but will not release any further evidence until after a June 25 board meeting that is scheduled to conclude its investigation.
The unfortunate losers in this whole saga are the people who live in and around East Palestine as nobody, including the government, is representing them or their interests. Instead, the powers that be want to sweep the matter under the rug with as little liability to their buddies as possible.
"The government holds all the cards and they aren't giving any of them up willingly," is how one reader described the situation. "They are lawless and untouchable. That won't change until they are all dead."
"And more and more Americans are waking up to that fact every day," responded another. "Their government has been trying to kill them for two decades. Poisoning their food and water first. Then their skies. And when that wasn't fast enough for them, they MANDATED A TOXIC SHOT on everyone who would buy their BS."
"Our government should be charged with crimes against humanity ... on US."
Another person found it laughable that suddenly the government cares about the nation's finances, allegedly, despite the country being tens of trillions of dollars in debt as the debt load continues to skyrocket.
"I fully expect any and all evidence to eventually be classified so no one can have access to it outside of Pedo Pete's garage," said someone else.

Ohio’s Chernobyl: Pollution from East Palestine still wreaking havoc in nearby Pennsylvania

    04/05/2024 // Ava Grace // 1.2K Views

Tags: badhealth, badpollution, big government, Chemical exposure, chemical violence, chemicals, Chernobyl, dioxin detox, Dioxins, disaster, East Palestine, ohio, Pennsylvania, toxic chemicals, toxins, train derailment, Vinyl chloride

Residents of embattled East Palestine, Ohio, feel abandoned, forgotten and discarded by state and federal governments over a year after the Norfolk Southern train derailment dumped massive tons of pollutants into their community.East Palestine's residents are not alone. In neighboring Pennsylvania, less than a mile to the east from the town, people are also describing a lackluster and frustrating response from the government at all levels, a lack of accountability from Norfolk Southern and extreme difficulties with reviving a sense of normalcy in a community where many are now developing health problems due to the train derailment. (Related: ANOTHER freight train derails in Pennsylvania, evacuations ordered.)
"Our Pennsylvania constitutional rights were violated and continue to be violated," said Sheila Stiegler, an organic farmer in Lawrence County near East Palestine. "We are here with our expectations for our rights to be restored and upheld."
Stiegler and other nearby residents testified during a Senate committee hearing on the aftereffects of the derailment and burn-off of vinyl chloride, which she called "the Ohio Chernobyl."
"Is our government going to allow a corporation to get away with it?" Stiegler asked. "This has been a ping pong from one agency to another – with little resolution."
The complaints echo what residents have repeated for a year, indicating a lack of trust in Norfolk Southern, and then a loss of trust in state and federal agencies due to poor communication and officials reportedly not being responsive to their needs.
"I've spoken to [Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw] – it yields nothing. He's a puppet, he's controlled by his board of directors," said Lori O'Connell, a resident of Darlington, Pennsylvania. "Nobody believes in the alphabet soup people because they don't follow through with what they say they're going to do anyhow – or you get the runaround."
Residents unable to get their property tested for chemical exposure

O’Connell, who lives three miles from the derailment site, couldn’t get any agency to test her soil. Until she forced her way into a meeting with Gov. Josh Shapiro, who only then was forced to call upon the Environmental Protection Agency to order a test on her property.
"I'm angry at my local government, my county government, my state and my federal because the help that we have received in this township is short of nothing – nothing," O'Connell said. "It's inexcusable that, as taxpaying citizens in the state of Pennsylvania, that we should have to go through this," O'Connell said.
She read off lab results for her family that showed elevated levels of benzene, vinyl chloride and other chemicals, similar to what other testifiers noted. Her husband has developed a rare form of breast cancer since the derailment.
Locals and researchers have asked for more testing – not just air, water and soil, but testing of indoor air quality to see if any chemicals were absorbed into fabrics and materials in homes.
But even with those tests, holding Norfolk Southern reliable would be tricky.
"Can you prove causation? No – and that’s what these companies rely on," said Rick Tsai, a chiropractor in Darlington, who has raised concerns regarding the burn-off of the vinyl chloride that spilled from the East Palestine train. That the burn-off was a choice, and one made for the sake of convenience over safety, has been an argument made since the choice was made to "drain all the cars and light them on fire in a ditch."
"All we really wanted was justice and life [as] it was before we were pretty much hit with a chemical bomb," Tsai said.

Two Pittsburgh bridges closed after 26 barges break loose on Ohio River

    04/17/2024 // Richard Brown // 1K Views

Tags: accidents, barges, big government, bridge closures, bridges, chaos, Collapse, collisions, Dangerous, disaster, McKees Rocks Bridge, national security, Ohio river, panic, Peggy's Harbor, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, SHTF, supply chain

After more than two dozen barges broke loose on the Ohio River late Friday, April 12, Pittsburgh officials took swift action and closed two bridges as a precautionary measure.City responders were alerted around 11:30 p.m. to the situation, involving 26 barges drifting downriver. Twenty-three of the barges were carrying cargoes like coal and fertilizer, while the other three were empty, as stated by the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety and U.S. Coast Guard officials in a news release. (Related: Cargo ship that hit Baltimore Bridge was also involved in Belgium collision in 2016.)
One coal-laden barge is still missing and presumed to have sunk due to flooding.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District indicated that search operations would commence once river conditions improve. Safety remains paramount in these recovery efforts, as emphasized by Carol Vernon, a spokesperson for the Corps.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of barge collisions with bridges or pollution thus far, ensuring the safety of mariners navigating the area. However, cautionary measures remain in place until all barges are accounted for and water levels recede, according to Lt. Eyobe Mills of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Despite the absence of injuries, Peggy's Harbor sustained substantial damage, prompting temporary closures of the rail bridge to Brunot Island and the McKees Rocks Bridge. Both bridges have since reopened, alleviating traffic concerns in the affected areas.
As recovery operations progress, the Army Corps of Engineers is conducting facility inspections to assess damage and ensure the safety of personnel and barge crews.
The recent bridge closures echo heightened concerns about infrastructure safety following a recent bridge collapse near Baltimore, underscoring the importance of swift and effective response measures in safeguarding communities.
Of the barges involved, 11 have been located and secured along the riverbank, while efforts continue to retrieve the remaining vessels.
Challenges persist, with nine barges negotiating the Emsworth Dam and four navigating beyond the Dashields Dam. The whereabouts of one barge remain unknown, raising concerns among authorities.
The cause of the barges breaking loose remains under investigation, with factors such as high water levels likely playing a significant role, as suggested by the Army Corps.
More and more bridges at risk due to ship collisions

In a statement, police emphasized the potential risk posed by the drifting barges to sub-structures along the river. They urged the public to steer clear of the affected area until further notice, prioritizing safety amid the unfolding situation.
This incident occurred in the wake of another recent bridge mishap, where the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed following a collision with a container ship named the Dali, flying the Singaporean flag.
The vessel struck a support column on the bridge roughly 20 minutes into its journey.
As recovery efforts continue, divers have retrieved three bodies from the submerged wreckage, while three individuals remain missing. Crews are diligently working to extract sections of the collapsed bridge, including those entangled in the muddy depths of the Patapsco River.
